oloriadebusola:My dear in civilized countries, citizens wear the camouflage as a sign of love and respect for their soldiers who lay down their lives for them in order for them to live. Google is your friend to verify these. |

oloriadebusola:Madam seriously speaking I ve no problem. I quite understand that some people act in a way that may sometimes deserve strong measures. It all points to d failurr of d Nigerian state and d result is what we are seeing now looking at d miserable condition of d country at all levels. Also, I understand why other "bloody civilian" should respect themselves and not wear their camo especially as crime cud be perpetrated with it by criminal element denting the already bad image of d military. Well ur previous comment when u were trying to say "do u know what soldiers pass thru" as if given d chance other civilians cannot endure d same training they go thru. U were inflating their "ego" by saying do u know what they go thru. In countries like Israel, Eritrea and some few European countries like Sweden and Norway and few others have made military service compulsory where all d civilians are enlisted and trained accordingly. Like I asked a soldier during my NYSC do u know what I went through as a civilian during my years of training? Do u know what we as corp members who are doctors, nurses, med lab scientist and other health related courses or engineering, law even d seemingly simple arts and social sciences courses all went thru during our long years of study in school like for me who did a 5 year course with intensive and breath taking thesis? Even d apprentice in a skill or trade do u know what they go thru? Do u know d question I asked d soldier almost got me into trouble with d soldier all because of inflated ego and pride. I dont know what u meant by BJ's weapon may be u meant to abbreviate BH for Boko Haram, a bunch of ragtag armed gangsters that sent some Nigerian soldiers running into Caneroon as refugees only to be disarmed escorted back to Nigerian territory by Cameroon soldiers. And the army public relations officer at d time came out to tell us that it was "tactical manuovre" with all their training. https://www.google.no/amp/www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/167277-nigerian-military-calls-soldiers-escape-to-cameroon-tactical-manoeuvre.html/amp http://www.nigerianeye.com/2014/08/boko-haram-runaway-nigerian-soldiers.html?m=1 http://thestreetjournal.org/2014/08/revealed-how-boko-haram-drove-nigerian-troops-into-cameroon/ 2 Likes 1 Share |

myking95: Or an officer can kill a comrade because of petty romance-related issues or love affair gone sour, like the Air Force bastard that killed his fellow Air Force girlfriend the other day. http://punchng.com/jealous-air-force-personnel-allegedly-shoots-colleague-girlfriend/ So these are the kinds of indomie, telemundo, Facebook and instagram generation of wimpy soldiers that would come here to rant about "dying to protect you" and demanding respect from you. What a bloody joke. Bunch of undisciplined, unprofessional, unprincipled, unrestrained, and r.etard.ed idiots. 3 Likes |

myking95: Truth is that there are not a few bad eggs among them. Instead, there are only a few good eggs. Very very few indeed. The institution is too rotten to rectify. The military is far more rotten than the much maligned Nigerian Police Force. Believe it or not. 4 Likes |

tsdarkside:The sorry should be meant for u as u lacked d sense to see the sense in what I wrote. I would help u if possible to see d sense in what I wrote. The stab of a brother is worse and more painful than that of a stranger. Menbers of the Nigerian armed forces are meant to be my "brothers" whose duty is to protect Nigerian citizens not that of a foreign army or invader as d case may be. Hence, I would not expect to be treated fairly by a foreign military whose primary duty is not to protect or treat me fairly if that serves the interest of its own nation. When d Nigerian military whose personnel paid with Nigerian tax money from Nigerians treats Nigerians badly then it is more painful to bear than to be treated badly by an army of a foreign nation 1 Like |

hedonistic:All institutions of the doomed Nigerian state are corrupt, police, army, navy air force, immigration all of them are part of d corrupt Nigerian society When d institutions of a country are too rotten to rectify then it shows that d country is beyond refrom and that is y Nigeria is a useless nation far beyond redemption and no hope for Nigeria. Even d Devil has more hope of making heaven than for Nigeria to progress. My nairaland name is a testimony to this fact 2 Likes |

aycorporat:I agree with u on this but it is never practical to allow d wearing of camo by anyone in Nigeria and many African countries like I know well of Ghana. This is because crimes could be committed by criminals using d uniform. For example a road block cud be set up by criminals in uniform and u wud think they re genuine officers at a checkpoint which I ve experienced once and d next thing is that u wud hear army rob people which is not true. I also recall that was d tactics Boko Haram were using at a point in time where they wud slaughter many on d road and sadly a lot of these went unreported in d media but for we who served in d north at d time we knew d situation was tense. Although, we ve had cases were just like d police some military personnel took part in robbery. I also recalled during my NYSC in d north, I had a police friend who told me that a military bayonet was left at a scene of a crime and what happened na talk for another day. However, in most civilized countries u rarely see the military on the street even called for internal security operations cos d police is adequately enough to handle such. D only time u see d military is when there is disaster or as it is in France where there is anstate of emergency, in England and Belgium cos of terror threat. Also, in all civilized climes, there is a comprehensive data of all in d country which is lacking in Nigeria so it is easier to investigate crime whether d culprit used camo or not using advanced forensic technology which Nigeria also lacks. |
