Every one is accountable for his sins.

YOU WILL SURELY REAP WHAT EVER YOU SOW. GOD CANNOT BE MOCK;
THE PRIEST FORGIVE THEM ONLY ON EARTH BUT NEVER HAVE THE POWER TO FORGIVE IN HEAVEN UNTILLED THEY PAY THE PRICE FOR THY MENACED.

First time I have heard the police make an arrest based on this kind of assertion. And is a faulty one at that because most criminals do have legit day jobs and investments. That is why there is a term called money laundering.

Dr. Hilary Okeke said the Church has forgiven the brains behind the attack.
Okeke, receiving a presidential delegation during a sympathy visit in Nnewi, however said the forgiveness does not in any way preclude government from fishing out the perpetrators and bringing them to book. let the law decide their faith but church has forgiven them and off quote.

The suspects are said to be very wealthy but with no identifiable means of income.

This police spokesman must be brainless. From the very stupid statement, the only thing 'linking' the so-called suspects to the crime is that they wealthy but have no "identifiable means of income".

Since when did the law make it a crime for anyone to not to have an identifiable means of income? Which specific law stipulates such and how do you define "identifiable"?

Besides, what's the direct or indirect connection between being wealthy without an identifiable means of income and the Ozubulu church killings?

No, it's because their source of wealth could not be ascertained. It's not a crime to be wealthy but it becomes a crime when your source of wealth become dubious.

Why not prove that one's source of wealth is dubious first before arriving at premature conclusions based only on empty suspicions and assumptions?

The Law does not make it a crime for you to be wealthy without the source of your wealth being known to busybodies. The Law males it a crime for you to acquire wealth from ILLEGAL means.

It is the job of the police and other law enforcement agencies to investigate the illegality of one's wealth before rushing to the media to talk nonsense. Unless and until their investigation establishes that a person's wealth accrued from his or her involvement in a specific criminal activity then there is no case, simple.

Besides our concern in the instant case is not anyone's source of wealth. The issue at hand is the very serious matter of homicide. Cold blooded mass murder. This statement by the police has to go down as the most useless statement ever released by any country's law enforcement. Why tell us rubbish stories about anyone's source of wealth, rather than tell us about the murder and about the evidence linking any suspect to it?

Nigerian news dey weak me always. How am I going to believe this when names are not mentioned? Jokers

Would the mentioning of names as you put it prove their complicity in the crime committed

The headline if true shows how clueless and unprofessional the Nigeria police is.

How do you arrest people and link them to the killing because of their questionable means of wealth? There are lots of people who would fall under the above category.

I thought there would be more justifiable reason to link those arrested to the crime instead of their means of wealth.

I have a feeling those who did the crime might be in their cribs enjoying Sunday lunch while some scape goats are under police nets for something they know nothing about.
