In an interview conducted by Punch newspaper reporter 13th August, Joe Igbokwe revealed that Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader is only a 'kid' who does not have the qualities to be Igbo leader. He said even the late Ojukwu would not support the hate speeches and violence that Kanu propagated. Igbokwe admitted that the Igbos are marginalized but insisted that a united Nigeria where fairness, justice, and equity reign is better than a Biafra with constrained space.

Some of these guys vexed with KANU because wanted to lead the quest but lacked the courage.

Joe Adewole Ibokwe is not an Igbo man in the true sense of it.
