That something was done previously is not an excuse to continue doing it once it becomes known that it should not be done. Isn't the clamour for restructuring based on need to change what precedence has given us?

Remember that precedence was that INEC disqualified candidates until Atiku challenged it, and now everyone knows INEC has no powers to disqualify candidates.

And why is he preempting the Supreme Court judges? The judges of the SC are to determine cases based on law and not based on precedence otherwise we would move to the law of common sense rather than law of the books. Our democracy only gets better as we iron out the grey areas of our constitution / laws.

Don't really know the bone of contention between Buhari and the Senate as per Magu. The Senate doesn't want Magu probably because he will unearth their skeletons hidden somewhere hence their stance. Bubu in return don't want to give in so that he won't be seen as the weaker vessel. Nigeria leaders has one thing in common their needs precede that of the masses.

ANY PERSON that is appointed just because the senate refuses to confirm Magu would just be a stooge and finally confirms the death of the already struggling anticorruption fight.

Buhari is not the one to say he wants Magu as a must.....Efcc should be independent of any arm of government.....that is how to build institution so that if corruption is found at the presidency, the EFCC chairman will have a free hand to do his work.....efcc chairman is only answerable to the Nigerian people...The presidency can nominate but it cant insist if other army of government finds something against him and can establish it...When it becomes contentious as we have now....the independent judiciary arm of government has to pass a judgement free of influence from both the presidency and the legislative. If the presidency has it all in selecting efcc chairman...the office becomes a tool to deal with political opponents and a refuge provider for the thieves in the government.
