I have noticed an upsurge in the number of wild cats in my compound
They keep attacking and killing my livestock @chicken
I have a dog that i dunno if it has sense
Dog that cannot reduce cat population is that one a dog
So how do i put this increasing number down
They even attack in broad daylight too. Just chased off a mother and kitten now
I chased a lone black cat earlier before this
Help, i need suggestions before they decimate my entire livestock reserve

Dogs don't hunt cats! However, if you want to kill stray cats you might have to prepare a meal out of your chickens and poison it. Make sure it's tasty. Or you set traps.

OP, your dog, do you let him/her roam the compound? Or you keep it in a cage expecting it to chase away cats and rodents inside a cage?

2. The dog may not chase to kill because it isn't trained to hurt those things. You need to train your dog in many activities. Train it to hurt any other animal on 4 legs. Then it will chase to kill.

You can as well, set traps to catch those pests disturbing you

There is no factory settings. The factory settings apply to Chicken and Goat not cats. Dogs attack bigger threats not lower ones. Your visitors are bigger but the cats and rodents are smaller and lower so it won't want to stress it self but play with them.

Train him to kill anything on four legs and your problems with stray cats are over.

Capture one of those stray cats and whenever you are less busy, Put the cat in front of him. Especially where the cat has no where to run. It will want to defend itself. It will attack him so also will he defend himself by fighting back.

Don't let the dog kill the cat. Remove the cat. Do it again after 2 days. Repeat the process for a week. Now leave a cat in your compound and set the dog loose. He will attack and kill.

The point of that process is to implant hatred for cats in the dogs mind. I have tested this and it worked. So I think it should work for you too.
