The students union Government of Niger Delta University under the leadership of Comr. Kemes mitin, staged a peaceful demonstration over hike in school fees and course registration. At the time of this report, the main school gate has been put under lock and key by the students. It could be recalled that the institution has suffered serious setbacks in academic activities due to incessant strike and protest actions bedevilling the school over the years. Trezzy Helm gathered from speculations making rounds, that the institution may officially release it's memo on Wednesday 16th August, indicating that it has joined the nationwide ASUU strike. chie8:the sweetness of this is i was there as an Aluta comrade, this school is barbaric and backward. When I was in year one I paid 1,500 for course registration now in my 3rd year they want me to pay 4k it will not happen, the worst part is if you have a carryover you'll have to pay 1k extra before registering the course, now imagine those that have six carryovers, 1k each for the carryover courses, although I'm not a victim. So it's a crime now to have carryover? Ask most of the lecturers they'd tell you they had 10carryovers during their time. This school is coursed. Infact, the institution needs probing, a lot of corrupt people there. They better hurry up and resolve the issue so that I can graduate and leave this hell fire called school. Very angry right now. ASUU is even at the corner. So many oppression in this country. |
