In the midst of the clashes that erupted following the violent riots which erupted this weekend at a Unite The Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia came something remarkable. While President Trump has been criticized for not denoucing the white supremacist actions of the neo-Nazis, skinheads, and members of the Ku Klux Klan in his first speech. His predecessor, the former president Barack Obama did something remarkable by sharing a Nelson Mandela quote with a tweet

The tweet from the former president gave a sign of hope that the events which had scared the country, was recieving attention from the world as his tweet quickly became a hit becoming the third most liked tweet in the history of twitter with over 2M likes and 920K tweets.

The violence in Charlottesville had already taken a different dimension as two police officers that were monitoring the events, got killed when their helicopter, crashed. The State Governor who had condemned in harsh tones the actions of the white supremacist declared a state of emergency.
