The American company Lucid Motors has unveiled the production version of its first model, the large electric Air sedan. Buyers will be offered four modifications at a price of 80 thousand to 169 thousand dollars.

Lucid Motors is going to manufacture all the key components for its electric vehicles itself and is very proud of the compact and powerful electric motors: with a mass of 74 kg, one motor can deliver up to 500 kW (680 hp). The base version of the Air will be equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle and will not go on sale until 2022 at a price of $ 80,000 – its specifications have not yet been announced.

The $ 95k Air Touring version will be available in the fourth quarter of 2021, it has four-wheel drive and two electric motors with a combined capacity of 628 hp. The power reserve per charge according to the EPA method is 653 km. Acceleration to 60 mph (96.56 km / h) in 3.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 km / h.

Kei car in retro style: Honda has declassified the second generation N-One

Dealers of the Japanese brand are already taking orders for the new product. It is available in three versions: Standard (Original), Premium and RS.

Honda unveiled its retro-styled N-One kei car in late 2012. The creators of the car were inspired by the compact Honda N360 – this model was produced from 1967 to 1972. N-One was slightly updated in 2017, and in April 2020 it became known about the completion of the release of the “five-door”. Now the Japanese brand has introduced a second generation hatchback.

Honda announced the “second” N-One in the spring of 2020 with the help of a completely “non-speaking” childish drawing. At the same time, the company noted that the new generation of the model will retain the retro style of its predecessor. Later, footage of the new N-One appeared on the Web, which the spies caught during the tests, while the camouflage film was only on the front part and partially on the stern of the prototype being tested.

Now the new generation Honda N-One is officially presented. The concept of his design remains the same: these are three shapes – a circle, a square and a trapezoid. We are talking about round head optics (now with LED daytime running lights), about “squared” tail lights and about a trapezoidal body. The shape of the radiator grille (varies depending on the version) and the air intake built into the front bumper have become different. “Fog lights” (available in the Premium and RS versions) are now rectangular rather than round. And in the rear bumper there was a strip with reflectors and parking sensors.

The interior also received its portion of “updates”: the “second” N-One has a multimedia system with a touch screen located in the center of the front panel (the touchscreen rises above it). The deflectors in the cabin are now also not round, but rectangular. There is no more circle and “tidy”. Further research showed that not all Model Y crossovers have furniture parts, and that Tesla had previously used standard polyurethane pads with vertical stops to secure the radiator to prevent the clamp from displacing, but they either ran out of stock, or showed their unreliability. In addition, a variant with transparent plastic corners without retaining ribs was found. In general, Tesla technologists are experimenting.

It is clear that such hack does not affect the maximum speed, but buyers of an expensive electric car (in the USA – from $ 49,990) still rely on a slightly different approach to the choice of components. The MC20 is an undeniable and long-awaited symbol of the Maserati brand renaissance: the car was designed from scratch in Italy and will be produced in the historic factory in Modena, which was under reconstruction for a year after the discontinuation of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio models and is now equipped with the latest technology.

The body, with a carbon-fiber monocoque bathtub, was developed in collaboration with Dallara, a renowned racing car builder. Aerodynamic refinement for two thousand man-hours in the tube made it possible to do without the wings and spoilers protruding beyond the dimensions of the body, while at a speed of 240 km / h a down load of 100 kg is created. We spoke in detail about the 3.0-liter “twin-turbo six” Nettuno for the petrol version of the Maserati MC20 in July. Briefly, we recall that this engine has two turbocharger units located outside (an atypical solution by modern standards), combined fuel injection and pre-chamber ignition with two candles per cylinder. The maximum output is 630 hp. at 7500 rpm and 730 Nm in the range from 3000 to 5500 rpm. All power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed DCT automatic (with two clutches) and a limited-slip differential. An electronically controlled interlock is available as an option. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 2.9 s, to 200 km / h – 8.8 s. The maximum speed is 325 km / h.

Suspension – on double wishbones “in a circle” with adaptive shock absorbers. An elevator is offered for the front axle, which allows you to painlessly overcome large irregularities such as speed bumps. The brakes are from Brembo, 380mm discs with 6-piston fixed calipers at the front, 350mm and 4-piston floating calipers at the rear. The tire size is 245/35 ZR 20 at the front and 305/30 ZR 20 at the rear. The wheelbase is 2700 mm. The overall length of the vehicle is 4669 mm. The curb weight of the petrol version is less than 1500 kg.

The interior is minimalistic but has generous CFRP and Alcantara finishes. The instrument cluster is completely virtual, 10-inch. The same diagonal is for the central tablet, which is responsible for multimedia functions and driving settings of the car. On the narrow central tunnel there is a volume control knob, window regulator buttons, gearbox control buttons and a washer for selecting driving modes – GT (tourist), Wet (wet), Sport (sport), Corsa (track) and ESC Off (disabling the traction control system). The audio system is from the Italian company Sonus Faber. For luggage, there are two small containers in the front and rear parts of the body with a total capacity of 150 liters.

The electrical modification has not yet been presented, but it is known that it will be able to drive 323 km on a single charge in the WLTP cycle and accelerate to the first “hundred” in 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed of the train is 310 km / h. An open-top version is also not yet presented, it will be available with both power plants.

The collection of pre-orders for the Maserati MC20 has already started, but production will only begin at the end of this year. The dollar price is known – from 210 thousand.

The radiator grille of the “refreshed” crossover received a different pattern and became a little larger, there is no longer a bar between it and the edge of the hood. Both bumpers have changed, the design of alloy wheels, the shape of the exhaust pipes; the rear lights now have the same styling as the electric sibling I-Pace.

But the interior of the restyled F-Pace has changed much more noticeably. The crossover received a new generation multimedia system with a touch screen enlarged to 11.4 inches in the center of the front panel (in the pre-reform version – 10 inches), two SIM-cards and the ability to update software “over the air”. “Tidy” is still digital, the diagonal remains the same (12.3 inches), now it has a projection screen. On the center console there is a touchscreen with rotating handles, and on the central tunnel the place of the washer was taken by the joystick to control the automatic transmission.

In the first row, there are now new seats with a massage function, the door panels have also changed: the window regulator keys have disappeared from the window sills and are now on the armrests. The multifunction steering wheel now has touch-sensitive buttons. At the base of the center console of the updated British brand crossover there is a platform for wireless charging of smartphones. The decoration uses natural leather and wood, as well as aluminum inserts.
