And the white man there is Chinese? China and stealing of minerals in Nigeria is something that has to be curbed.
Since you don't know what to do with your minerals or even know they exist and discover them why not allow serious people who need the minerals to take it? Besides, you make it sound like they came forcefully to take the minerals. Are the locals not involved too?

Good development But my question is always, why waiting for outsiders to come and discover stuff in our backyard when we have research centres with PhDs and Profs.

Imagine our children reading in history books that China discovered iron ore in Cross River Nigeria as if we be mumu

Pls leave the iron ore alone and preserve that virgin forest, the rate of deforestation in Nigeria is too alarming. Enough with the Chinese diging up every precious resources and cutting down every tree in Africa to build China, say no to this second colonialism and expel the Chinese now.

Simply put: Our "Profs" are only after bearing the title. They know nothing about professing the job.

While others are only after blowing big-big grammar upandan.

Hehe! Which rubbish research centers do we have? Is it the ones with no/dead equipment? Also, it's really easy to know how poor our Profs are: just check their publication list, impact factor, and check the journals they publish their "work" in. Profs and PhDs who never publish in a high ranked journal, only shitty open access journals and other lowly ranked journals.

Correct! A nation being ruled by people whose skulls aren't completely fvcking empty would decide that they want to be world/regional leader in some field be it some sector of manufacturing, extracting/processing minerals, IT, education... whatever. Then, they'd send the smartest people on training AND, most importantly, ask them/industry specialists to compile the list of needed equipment to set up their indigenous lab/companyor whatever + source for funding from national/international investors.

Within a few years or a generation, such goals could be achieved. But NO, we are being ruled by illiterates!

Is it in commercial quantity or just a small piece of it in the bush? If in commercial quantity, that will be great economically. I am happy because I have read one good news about Nigeria today (although the discovery wasn't made by Nigerians despite all the PH.Ds and Professorships in possession)

SO GOOD FOR INDUSTRIALIZATION AND DIVERSIFICATION

While we slept and kept our big minds busy with a woman that was tired of staying with a ma as his wife and Charly Man being attacked in Wuse, they are further sharing your sweat. They are leaving nothing for your children.

I seek answers to the Ajaokuta saga.

A lot depends on that place.

..who is Pramod Mittal?

What company is called ISPAT?

Why did Obasanjo get SOLGAS that his son Gbenga had an interest, a downstream Oil and Gas company, to take over Ajaokuta Steel Complex after signing an agreement with the orginal Russian Company that built Ajaokuta Steel Company?

Why did SOLGAS contract ISPAT as a technical partner owned by Pramod Mittal to run Ajaokuta and National Iron Ore in Itakpe?

Why was Ajaokuta valued at only $200m and given to ISPAT by Obasanjo and SOLGAS booted from Ajaokuta?

What was the real value of Ajaokuta at the point?

Why did ISPAT engage in Asset Stripping of Ajaokuta and not reviving the Steel Plant?

Is there a difference between GLOBAL STEEL HOLDINGS and ISPAT?

Are both companies one and the same?

Why did Pramod collect a loan of $192m from banks in Nigeria and immediately acquired a Steel Plant in Bulgaria which he ran aground and disappeared from Bulgaria when the funds were meant to be ploughed into Ajaokuta and Delta steel?

Why did Yaradua cancel the contract with Pramod?

Why did Pramod flee Nigeria and was declared wanted by EFCC?

WHY DID FAYEMI INVITE PRAMOD AND GLOBAL STEEL HOLDINGS BACK TO NIGERIA TO TAKE OVER NATIONAL IRON ORE MINING COMPANY?

Has Pramod, Ispat and Global Steel Holdings run any successful steel company anywhere in the world?

A man wanted in Bulgaria for fraud and declared wanted by EFCC after looting the National Iron Ore Mining Company and Ajaokuta.

Are some individuals being rewarded with out National Assets?

We need answers to these questions?

Why not invite invite the Russian Company, Tyazh Promo Export (TPE) that designed and built ASCO up to 98 per cent as at 1994 to come back and complete what they started.

This is a company that is known worldwide to have carved a niche for itself in the construction of mining and mineral processing plants?

The late Yaradua invited TPE for discussions before he died.

The company was engaged by the Nigerian government to do Preliminary Project Study on Iron and Steel industry in Nigeria in 1973, the year in which good iron ore deposits were found at Itakpe, Ajabanoko and Shokoshoko, all in the expanse of Okene, Kabba and Lokoja in Kogi State.

The Russian Consortium completed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) in 1977 which laid the template for the establishment of ASCO/NIOMCO in 1979, same year the formal signing of the Global contract for the implementation of the Ajaokuta Steel project between the Nigerian government and TPE was done during the military regime of Obasanjo.

With the contract signed, the Russian company, as it could be recalled, deployed 1,000 Russian experts and 3,500 Nigerian workers to carry out the construction exercise that was completed up to 98 per cent by October 1993. Specifically, of the 482 Units that make up the entire ASCL, 476 of them were commissioned, including three rolling mills, TPS-TBS, repair and service shops that were all put into operation.

After that feat, the steel company was abandoned and left to rot away for years. And when the federal government made the move to revive the company in 2002, the same Russian company was invited to carry out an assessment audit of what needed to be done to revive it, but the effort was later stalled when the Obasanjo government decided in 2005 to give the company on concession to Gbenga's guys.

Why are they bringing PRAMOD MITTAL and his marauding ISPAT, GLOBAL STEEL HOLDINGS to start on another Ajaokuta and National Iron Ore Mining jamboree?

Why are we like this?

WE ARE NOT JUST SERIOUS.

Let me be going to get a bag to collect my rice from Audu. That's the low level we have descended to.

CHAI!

Good news! Sadly, it wasn't discovered by us. Lack of education on identifying such material culture, I'm an example; I will work by it without knowing cause I never saw an iron ore meanwhile I've read of iron ore multiple times in school.

God bless you my brother for saying the truth. We all did chemistry and we're taught elements, but did we ever get to see the elements? I would walk pass that stuff without knowing it relevance.

I beg to differ
Ibibio, Annang, Eket and even Oron speaks dialect of the same language. The difference is just like the Igbo spoken in Owerri and that of Anambra or Aba.

But for Cross River, Ikom and Efik speaks very significantly different languages altogether. It's not a dialect.
Unlike Akwa Ibom, Cross River is really a Babylon of languages
