Goriola Erogbogbo Completes US State Department’s International Visitors Leadership Programme.

Goriola Erogbogbo, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer in the Office of the Governor, Lagos State has successfully completed the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), a professional exchange program funded by the U.S Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The aim of the program is to build mutual understanding between the US and other nations of the world through short-term visits to the State.

He attended and successfully completed the three-week programme from July 7th to July 29th. In 2015, he was named by the African Leadership Institute as one of Africa’s highest potential young African leaders for Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellowship. A public servant with a great vision and a social entrepreneur with a mission, Goriola Erogbogbo, started a foundation in his father’s memory - The Layi Erogbogbo Foundation - to combat endocrine diseases for the underprivileged in Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to the Information made available by the US Department of State, International Visitors Leadership Programme participants are selected from current and emerging leaders in government, politics, the media, education, non-governmental organizations, business and trade.


During the programme, which focused on Accountability and transparency in government, GoriolaErogbogbo participated in trips and learning sessions in government, corporate and civil society offices in Washington DC, Sacramento California, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and New Orleans, Louisiana.

After participating in learning sessions with participants from more than 18 countries, the visionary public servant and speaker, Goriola Erogbogbo has joined an elite group with over 335 Heads of Government who has participated in the International Visitors Leadership Programme which started in 1940.
