Hello nairalanders, have tried and tried but can't figure out the answer, over to the mathematicians in the house.

C - 8 + B = 6 combining the two above C + B = 14 ...... ...eqn vi Step 3 B - C = -5 .... ... eqn v C + B = 14 .... ..eqn vi B = C - 5 rearranging eqn v C + C - 5 = 14 2C - 5 = 14 2C = 14 + 5 = 19 C = 91/2 C + B = 14 in eqn vi B = 14 - 91/2 B = 41/2 A + B = 8 in eqn I A = 8 - 41/2 A = 31/2 B + D = 8 in eqn iii D = 8 - 41/2 D = 31/2 ANSWER A = 31/2 B = 41/2 C = 91/2 D = 31/2 CHECK A + B = 8 41/2 + 31/2 = 8 A + C = 13 41/2 + 91/2 = 13 B + D = 8 31/2 + 41/2 = 8 C - D = 6 91/2 - 31/2 = 6 1 Like |
