No fewer than 730 workers of the Delta State- owned Delta Line have been sacked.

This followed the sale of the company to God Is Good Motors (GIG).

The company was allegedly sold to GIG for N161 million.

It was gathered that the N161 million price was far below the N2 billion bid from Delta State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

It was learnt that the sale, executed without due process, left the state government with 30% stake in the company, handing 70% to GIG.

A Delta State Ministry of Justice document indicated that the name of the company will be changed after five years.

The curious sale of the company to GIG Motors has resulted in the sack, without payment of compensation, of the 730 workers of Delta Line.

Meanwhile, sources close to state authorities have denied the allegations insisting that the governor adheres to the rule of law in all transactions.

Well, i feel the amount is too low for a state transport company.anyway,GIG is highly reputed in the transportation industry, and i know Delta line will turn a money spinner for the state. Agofure motors completely floped in the handling of Delta line.
