Our dear brothers from the Southeast in particular have this complex and have created the construct of one big bad Northern Nigeria bent on oppressing them.

However the truth is that the North is more diverse than the South with a greater number of ethnic groups within it.

However, they have largely managed to come together to pursue similar aims often and with Hausa as the adopted language, a strong bond is created. It is fair to say that majority of the ethnic groups in the North are not as big as the Igbos but with the power of unity, it is the former that feel weak.

The reason is not far-fetched, they have not learnt to cooperate within themselves and with other people. A recipe for relegation in politics. Until Southeasterners learn this simple but fundamental lesson, they will have plenty to complain about.

This article is instructive http://www.gamji.com/article8000/news8782.htm

At least, you've confirmed you aint Yoruba but one of those Fulani who bears Yoruba name probably as a result of his Yoruba mum but has a Fulani father. Don't get it twisted, a child belongs to his father, not mum! Kapish.

Thank you Mr. Biographer, how much shall we pay you for this wonderful work of fiction?

We will continue to educate and enlighten you.

SE have a different ideological and philosophical bearing from the North , and want to get away as far as they can get from either a one North or a United North period.

Yet Igbos are so plenty in the North. The inherent paradox with your claim calls to question its validity.

Where is the fiction? Is that not true? Aren't you a Fulani? I've already learnt about one of your folks claiming Yoruba-Fulani because his mum is a Yoruba until I told him there's nothing as such. You're either one of it.

That I don't agree with the Ibos doesn't mean I agree with anyone that wants to destroy my heritage and my identity. I'm proudly Yoruba and no one dares sully that heritage of mine, not even the Fulani.

"Same reasons we Igbos are so plenty in Lagos". It's mostly by design. Although, Igbos by nature are a migratory group, but the overwhelming concentration of Igbos either in the West or North were as a result of age long marginalization, lack of infrastructure/sea port/international airport and etc. Obasongo is one of the chief architect of the new dysfunctional structure right after the war. You wouldn't know because they also stopped the teaching of Nigerian history in schools. Igbos will always be wiser than Yorubas and Hausa/Fulanis because they are at the receiving end of the "evil" that is Nigeria *note; don't forget, they sacrificed millions in order not to be found all over the North or west.

Stop trying to bury injustice and backwardness. The north may have many ethnic groups but is unified by free oil money, dominance and dirty religious motive.

It doesn't take a soothe sayer to conclude that the OP is a tribalist extraordinaire. I checked the source he provided and it wasn't riddled with the hate in his comment.

The truth is that everybody is ignorant. The same way some southerners call all northerners hausa is the same way northerners call everyone who isnt from the North or Yoruba, Igbo. even in the ignorance, Hausa has come to mean anybody who is from the north or/and a muslim. So, when someone from the south says Hausa, they're referring to northerners.

The Southeast doesn’t get 'oil money' and cannot unite itself despite bring largely homogeneous. #Shame

Marginalization or self-induced political relegation with lack of objectivity, strategic planning and thinking.

Everybody is the enemy, they are the perpetual 'victims'. How can you progress with such a mindset?

This persecution complex and hate of the igbos will continue to be their bane in Nigeria. It should worry them that just like yours truly, many Christians hate them equally if not more than the Hausas do. They started this ideological war and we are ready to counter them hate for hate and intellect for intellect.

It is better if the biafran dream is quickly achieved as there is nothing left for them in Nigeria other than ignominy and suspicion from Nigerians.

You think if given Biafra they would stop? Nigeria would still be forced to re-invade it before they behave. Anyways every President Nigeria has is bound to crush any such bid. Failure to do so makes them guilty of treason. They are not ready to die for suicidal political neophytes.

What's this one saying?

Ibos are so funny I swear. They always choose to forget the atrocities perpetrated by them but choose to magnify others while playing the victim.

Which stupid receiving end are you talking about? That Ironsi, an Ibo man truncated our true federalism? That an Ibo man, Zik implemented the no secession clause in our constitution? That Ibo men plunged Nigeria into her first coup, killing every tribes' leaders apart from theirs? That Ibo men politicised Jonathan regime and hardly made noise about Biafra until Buhari came into power?

Better shut your canal, if you've got nothing to say. The fact is Ibo are the real atrocities that befell Nigeria. I actually want history to be reinstated back in our curriculum even as Lagos state government already implemented it so that every laid back Yoruba mind can be re-awaken and see all the atrocities Ibo caused Yoruba and Nigeria as whole, hence we should have no pity for treacherous folks who always choose to play the victim after causing troubles everywhere.
