In response to a thread on the Question below PentiumPro: Its simple when you want to do business you go to where you have more advantage to succeed, 1) Have you been able to compete with Igbos in business in your very own land let alone Igboland? 2) Why do you think Igbos themselves are travelling outside Igbo lands to as far as overseas to do business? Its simply to break new grounds as the competition here is too much. What business do you want to bring to Igboland that's not already here both in small and large scale? Truth is you'll not only need enough money (in fact money is not the major thing) but, also radical marketing skill to survive unless you have something unique. Producing, buying and selling are not what Igbos need any all the university degrees in the world to be perfect in, everything down here is business even common spoken words like "Good morning, good evening, thank you, etc" can be commercialized in one way or the other,, its inbuilt and we're doing it with fun.. so feel free if are able to see office space/shop or can even stand for 13 hrs a day.. I can tell you one business you're very sure to succeed in, come and build plaza anywhere in South East I can assure you before you finish the foundation you would have sold/rented out all the spaces... we're very accommodating people but, we're also lions in business competition.. so please stop the Igbos are not accommodating, there're many people from other tribes who are making it big here and they are the ones to tell you how accommodating Igbos are.. we go about our business because money must must be made and there's no time for beefing or tribal nonsense here.. 3 Likes

Trading is the reason for the apparent absence of diversity in ala Igbo. Guy don't fool yourselr , it is all about tribalism, you choke or systematically chase away competitions or at times like we here you kill competition and I meant it literally. There are one thousand and one businesses that are not in ala Igbo. Trading and petty trading might be in abundance but real structured businesses are lacking in mills. 4 Likes |

GoldNiagara: This is what you choose to believe, why haven't we all died since you say we kill competitors, ? On this one you choke or systematically chase away competitions You're doing business very lucrative one at that but, you're afraid to put in huge amount of money then an Igbo man sees the same opportunity and puts in millions and produce more or import 4ft container loads of the same goods and reduce the price, how do you plan to beat him.. We called foresight and bold step.. And on this one Trading and petty trading might be in abundance but real structured businesses are lacking in mills.[/quote] No its not petty trading okay.. because most shops you see are for sampling they have small industries and warehouse else where.. so don't comfort yourself with that.. 1 Like |
