Nigeria Still Can’t Find Boko Haram’s Leader, Even After Spending $593 Million by Mbeki: 7:53pm On Aug 30, 2017 |
Forty days ago, the head of Nigeria’s military issued his soldiers an ultimatum: Bring me Abubakar Shekau, the head of Boko Haram, dead or alive. A lot has changed over the course of the manhunt. Among other developments, Nigeria’s long-absent leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, has finally returned to the country after three months abroad on sick leave. And the Nigerian military has secured the $593 million purchase of 12 U.S. attack helicopters and weapons, ending a yearslong saga. But one thing that remains the same is the threat posed by Boko Haram, which carries on blowing up Nigerian citizens on a near-daily basis, and the status of Shekau, who continues to direct attacks from the shadows, according to experts. |

Nigerians and their low thinking. how much has America spent on ending terrorism in Afghanistan. How much has UK spent to end terrorism in UK, How much has Germany spent to end terrorism in Germany, How much has Philippine spent to end terrorism in the Philippines? U guys talk about terrorism like its a Childs play. Like it's all about catching a petty thief. Nigerians need to start thinking in a globally accepted way 2 Likes 1 Share |

MasterKim: My brother the people you are talking to have an IQ less than 10. They are incapable of processing information and unable to reason. I have never seen when bbuying a fighting plane tranlates to money spent on tracking an individual. GEJ regime spent N1 trillion on the military and had nothing to show for. Like you said the US has so far spent trillions but Afghanistan is on the verge of taliban and isis knifes, Iraq just managing to push out terrorism. The people you are talking to were termed pigs and idiots by a worm beneath notice yet they follow him blindly. They do not wish Nigeria well and seek to interpret information in a way that foolishly represents their wishes. 1 Like |

How much did US spent before capturing Osama. It took US how many years before capture Osama, despite all their military warfare? As powerful as Europe as a bloc, have they been able to eradicate terrorism? How much has Syria Spent? How much has Iraq spent? How much has Libya spent. Even Tillerson made Nigeria a reference point at the UN Convention on Anti-Terrorism. We are not there yet but we are not where Jonathan left us with Bolo Haram controlling Local Govts, declaring a caliphate on our soil. |

I could remember very well that Boko Haram controlled a good number of Local Government in Adamawa and Borno State, we could hear of bomb blast even in Abuja, Independence day celebration comes to mind. All these has greatly reduced, people are settling back in dis areas. Even if u kill shekau today, they are dozens of people lining up to take over. I am nt trying to say killing him is a bad idea, until his assets have been dismantled, killing him will be of no help. That is a military strategy. The US knew exactly where Osama was, as early, 2001: I remember the den president Bush saying they are targeting d middle men nd weak cells in the group because they are harder to replace, when this was done, Obama had a free shot at Osama. The powers of al-Qaida is now less than what it was, in fact they even depend on ISIS to conduct attacks. |
