Nearly five years after Charla Nash received a groundbreaking face transplant, the 62-year-old said the surgery has given her a new lease on life.In February 2009, Nash was attacked byher friend's chimpanzee, Travis, who ripped off her nose, lips, eyelids and hands before he was shot by the police.The US military funded a facial transplant two years later in order to learn more about how it could help wounded veterans, and Nash has been subject to medical tests ever since.
