Tecno Phantom 6 Plus

The Phantom 6 Plus is a follow up to the Phantom 6, Tecno’s 2016 flagship. The device is one of Tecno mobile’s best. It features awesome specs such as a 6.0-inch FHD display and a 21MP Sony IMX 230 Camera with Dual-Flash. What makes the Phantom a total package is a 4050mAh battery that makes it true to its nickname ‘The Beast’’.

Why should you buy the Phantom 6 Plus?

It comes with a 4GB RAM which makes it function and multitask without any form of lag. Another plus is the 4050mAh battery which gives it the power to run all applications for a long time without you worrying about frequent charging. Also, the Deca-core Heliox20 Chipset is fast and battery efficient (It can save power up to 30% battery life).

Another advantage of the Phantom 6 Plus is the 64GB internal storage which is enough to store your files and applications. Besides, the device comes with both iris scanner and a fingerprint reader for better security of your smartphone.

What are the cons of the 6 Plus?

The first disadvantage is the Hybrid Sim set-up. The device comes without a feature for SD card, so you have to choose one of the sim slots has a memory card slot. Also, the battery is non-removable. And, the phone runs on the older version Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Most importantly, the Phantom 6 Plus is quite expensive. However, if you have money to spend and you desire a premium device, we think it is an excellent phone.

Tecno Camon CX

he Tecno Camon CX is an upgrade of the C9. Just like the other Camon series, it is camera focused. The CX comes with 16MP front and back camera. Also, it comes pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat based on the Tecno custom Hios 2.0 UI. Other attractive specs are 2GB RAM, with 16GB ROM. Also, it features 1.5GHz MediaTek processor, 3200mAh battery, and 5.5-inch IPS Display. Besides, it has a full Uni body metal design,

What makes the Camon CX a great phone?  The 16MP front camera features a huge sensor, and this makes it a better option for selfie lovers. Also, the 16MP rear camera with dual flash makes it suitable for low light photography. Another pro of the CX is the Android 7.0 operating system which is customized with Hios. What more? It comes with 4G LTE support.

Now let’s look at some cons of the CX.

The first disadvantage is the lack of OTA update. The non-removable battery and the small RAM size are also drawbacks to some users. Besides, the 16GB internal memory is too low for a midrange device. We think the C9 is a nice budget device with superb camera.

Tecno Camon C9

The Camon series are known for amazing camera, and the Camon C9 did not disappoint Camon fans. This phone features 13MP front and back camera. Also, it sports an Octa-core processor and 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM. Other specs include 3000mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, and a 5.5-inch FHD IPS Touchscreen.

Wondering what the pros of this phone are?

The main advantage of the Camon C9 is the 13MP front camera with flash. It is positioned in the centre and ideal for taking selfies. Also, the 13MP rear camera is rotatable and comes with dual flash. Regarding battery life, the 3000mAh battery is fair enough. Moreover, the 2GB RAM enables it to run applications smoothly. Also, with the Octa-core processor and 4G LTE connectivity, you are assured of fast browsing experience. Above all, it is pleasant to look at, with the tastefully designed body and sharp, bright display.

What are the drawbacks of the Camon C9?

We think the internal storage of 16GB internal memory is not competitive in this price range.  Moreover, it did not come with a tamper proof glass, so you have to handle it carefully. Moreover, it does not have fast charging feature.  In sum, we think the C9 is a nice camera phone.

Tecno L9 Plus

The L9 Plus is big in all aspects. It sports a 6.0-inch IPS Display in addition to a massive 5000mAh battery. Aside from the huge screen and battery, it features other cool specs such as a 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Also, it comes with a slightly modified Android 7.0 Nougat and 1.3Ghz Quad-core processor.

What makes the Tecno L9 Plus dominate in its category? It comes in a simple but beautiful design. The rectangular shape is perfectly curved making the 6-inch device easy to hold. Besides the alluring 6.0-inch IPS display, makes reading and watching media enjoyable. It delivers bright and clear images.

Another plus of this device is the fast charging feature. You can get 100% with two hours charge. What more? The reverse charging feature allows you to charge devices. You can finally say goodbye to frequent charging and power banks. Most importantly, the L9 is budget friendly.

Well, no device is perfect, and the L9 has its drawbacks. The main disadvantage is the lack of 4G connectivity which might be a turn off for browsing addicts and heavy downloaders. The 16GB ROM is also disappointing, but it can be expanded with a micro SD card up to 128GB. Besides the 1.3GHz MediaTek processor is not so powerful. However, it can result in better battery optimisation. Do you think you can live with these cons? We believe it is a great budget device.

Tecno Spark Plus K9

The Spark Plus K9 is the Plus variant of the recently released Tecno Spark K7. It features more RAM, faster processor, a bigger display size and higher capacity battery than the K7. The K9 comes loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat with Tecno’s UI-Hios. Besides, it runs on MediaTek MT6580 Octa-core Processor coupled with a 2GB RAM and internal storage of 16GB. Also, it sports a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. The K9 also features a big 6.0-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen and a 3400mAh battery.

Here are pros that make us think the K9 is going to be a favourite of many young Tecno lovers.

A significant advantage is the alluring body design and massive 6.0-inch screen for people who love their screen big.  Another plus of this device is the Android 7.0 OS which runs on Octa-core 1.5GHz processor. The processor coupled with a 2GB RAM ensures smoothness when you multitask with the device. Besides, the 13MP rear camera features built-in noise reduction up to 75% while making pictures 50% brighter. To top it all is the fast charging function, fingerprint scanner, and 4G LTE connectivity.

Do you want to know the cons of the K9?

We think the Tecno could have done better with the camera on the K9. If indeed the device is targeted at the youths, the 5MP selfie camera might be disappointing to the target market. Also, we expected more than 16GB internal memory for this phone. All in all, we think the Plus K9 is a contender in its price category. Though the device is not yet on sale in online stores, the expected price range is between ₦37,000 and ₦50,000. However, its counterpart, Tecno Spark K7 is available from ₦32,000 in Nigeria online stores.

Tecno WX3P

Tecno WX3 Pro is the Pro version of the WX3. The W series are affordable phones and are known to offer good performance. The selling point is the WX3 Pro is the 5000mah battery which is quite impressive for an entry level phone.

Aside from the massive battery, it comes with a 5-inch touchscreen,1.3GHz Quad Core processor and has IGB RAM. The WX3 Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat 7.0 and 8GB Internal Memory. On the camera department, the WX3P sports 5MP on both the back and front.

The 5000mah battery is an advantage especially if you need a powerful smartphone, but you are on a tight budget. Another plus is the Android vs7.0 Nougat operating system.

The major con of the WX3 Pro is the washed out Pixelated 480p display and low internal memory. Only 3.2 GB is available for apps and files. Also, there’s no fast charging feature. Besides, we think the 1GB RAM is no more competitive in the market, not to mention the average camera. Also, there’s no 4GLTE connectivity. However, because it is a budget phone, we think the specs are okay.
