High Cost Of Phones In Nigeria by Ororocelemi(m): 5:26pm On Oct 26, 2023 |
The rate at which mobile phones prices increases in Naija these days is alarming, every minute the price of a phone increases by #1 naira at least. I remember when Infinix Note 30pro came out in May, it was around #175k but now it is around #300k, Itel S23+ came out in September at #148k and today it is around #189k by December it will surely be #200k if not more. Any mobile or electronical gadget you think is expensive now, just wait to see the price in the next coming month. God will see us through in the next 4yrs 36 Likes 3 Shares

Nigeria happened to nigerians thanks to gullibly stupid electorates and incompetent corrupt political office holders. truthfinder319:Bigotry is not a good lifestyle...it's akin to living in a glass house and throwing stones. Fearyourcreator:Self denial/deceit won't change reality around you...your toxic stupidity won't reduce the price of $ollar which determines importation cost... Emeka71:... Please educate on why there is "the increasing dollar rate"?. Lolz. Wittyness. 84 Likes 15 Shares |

Roboto11:That one no get sense.. Nigerians are poor when the government can't stabilize economy, right? That dude must be one of the idiots that brought in these clueless leaders.. They try to justify rubbish ,when sensible persons are discussing on this platform.. Very anyhow set of people.. 55 Likes 3 Shares |

BigYash: Sharap. Our leaders are just like the followers. They aren't all clueless but most are. If the citizens don't find a way to produce products for local consumption or export, there's only so much the leaders can do, especially overnight. Why people think there's a magic wand somewhere is baffling. 9 Likes |

BigYash: Sharap hypocrite. I know your type. You would complain about the judiciary for instance, but complain when Buhari attempted to cleanse the system. You would complain about enabling environment as if you don't have a role to play in it. As you are, I'm sure you are a heavy bribe giver. 4 Likes |

Re: High Cost Of Phones In Nigeria by Acidosis(m): 11:38am On Oct 27, 2023 |
Roboto11: Yes. These phones are produced in countries where poor people can afford a basic iPhone through a one-month hustle. In Nigeria, you will need to sacrifice your one year salary for the same phone. 4 Likes |

BigYash: I don't blame you. When your mates were in school learning the acts of comprehension and verbal reasoning, you were busy stealing meat and fish from your mama's pot. You're all grown now with absolutely nothing to show, not even commonsense. Go back and read that statement like an educated individual, read it aloud 5 times, and give yourself a heavy knock on your coconut head. Maybe the poverty in your lineage was provoked by a generational curse, but the poverty (poor people) in that post can certainly be attributed to the failure of the government. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Ororocelemi: When we no dey make am for Nigeria, what do you expect? The workers who make the phones have the same rising cost of living issues, and their bosses and companies know it. So, salaries go up, and by extension, cost of phone goes up. Maybe when we start making and exporting phonesfor Nigeria,..maybe prices may come down. But at the end of the day, people extracting the material for phone, people putting phone together, companies making the phone, even phone seller, all want to be paid. No one would sell Galazxy note for N20000 and smile. |

That's for the f00lish agbadorians who say they don't care about the exchange rate hitting #1500=$1 because we don't spend $ in Nigeria. In a bid to absorb the certificate forger of ineptitude, they bury their heads inside the soil. #VoluntarySlaves 11 Likes 1 Share |

People killing themselves for material things like expensive phones. All these so called expensive brand of phone will be outdated tomorrow. I remember when I was in the University, people were dying to get Blackberry phones. Some sold their destiny's just to get such phones. Now, where is Blackberry today? Blame exchange rate. Those phones are not manufactured in Nigeria. Even if they are manufactured in Nigeria, the materials are not. If naira reach N2000 to a dollar by December, the phones of 150k in July could reach 500k by December. With weaker currency of ours phones appreciate in value. The last time prices of Latest phone brands in the market were decreasing was far back 2016. Back then you could speculate through that less than a year their prices will reduce and you can make your purchase. Those times naira was still defending with one eye closed against the dollar. Then you can dispose the phone you recently purchase and buy new one. Now, you are on your own if you try it, though it will pay you if you have sugarcoated tongue. 10 Likes 1 Share |
