Here is an evidence below of nearly half a million people with Nnamdi Kanu in Aba in honor of Biafra fallen heroes and heroines on May 30th, 2015 while Jonathan was in power. This evidence nullifies that thread. So since Mod pushed that thread to front page without evidence, I'd appreciate it if they would push this counter thread WITH EVIDENCE to front page. Let's make Nairaland a judicious and fact-based forum devoid of propaganda.

If the rally in the video you posted occured on May 30th 2015, how exactly does it nullify the other thread?... As at May 30th, it was already two (2) months after GEJ lost the election and it was even a day after Buhari was sworn in to the disappointment of millions of GEJ supporters. So I ask again, what exactly does this thread or this video nullify?... A video of an Nnamdi Kanu rally prior to the 2015 election should have made more sense.

Under Jonathan's leadership, several members of MASSOB were arrested and some even killed (Ezu River massacre) and nobody gave a damn about it. The head of the Biafran zionist movement (Chief Ben Onwuka) who declared Biafra during Jonathan's reign was also arrested, locked up and the key thrown away for several months without any trial and that happened under the government of GEJ. The simple reason Jonathan did not arrest Kanu was because during Jonathan's time, Kanu was a nobody who was based in the UK making noise to his very insignificant audience, nobody took him serious then. How many people knew Kanu before April 1st 2015? Did YOU even know him yourself?... and how exactly was Jonathan meant to arrest an 'unknown' person living in far away the UK?

People started paying attention and following Kanu only after GEJ lost the election because Kanu at the time seemed to be the only alternative left for millions of disgruntled Jonathan supporters from the south east who could clearly smell the potential political consequences of the poor politics played by the Igbo nation in 2015. 99% of IPOb and Kanu supporters today only declared support for Kanu/IPOB after the 2015 elections. This is a fact that cannot be wished away, everything about the explosion of IPOb is deeply rooted in politics of 2015. But unfortunately, Buhari with his actions and inactions keep lending validity to the ipob distractions.

Kanu is just an opportunist who used the disappointment, frustration and anger of Jonathan loosing the elections to exploit the Igbos for his political relevance. Before the 2015 elections, KANU was a unity beggar, a day after Buhari was sworn in he became a secessionist.
Even though Jonathan was weak, if he had tried this rubbish during his reign, Jonathan would have dealt with him severely.
