All too often we've been lounging around at an airport, hour after hour, watching the clock tick away the seconds to pass the time. Typically speaking, there's nothing better to do in an airport, unless you want to shell out for an overpriced massage, down some drinks, or stare blankly at a TV screen.

Now, however, one airport is building an actual outdoor swimming pool. As for the location? It's extremely fitting, coming to both Terminal A and Terminal B at the Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic. As part of the many features included in the new VIP lounge, the pool will be accessible to elite status fliers on participating airlines, as well as Priority Pass members and those who buy a lounge pass for the day.

While the rates for the day pass have not yet been announced, we do know that the pool should be open to travelers as soon as December 2017. That should make traveling to the Dominican Republic even better, even if it extends your trip to paradise for just another hour.
