The CAF World Giving Index has released their annual World Giving Index, naming Africa’s most generous countries of 2017. The eighth edition of the CAF World Giving Index, saw the collection of data from 139 countries, which represents 95% of the world’s population. The report includes questions about three different types of giving behaviour, with each country ranked according to their answers to: #Helping a stranger #Donating money #Volunteering time The questions that make up the Index focus on the universal Question – do we give money or time or do we help strangers in need. This years report confirmed Africa as the only continent to see an increase in all three giving behaviours, with kenya officially ranked as the most generous country in Africa. Followed by West Africa’s Sierra leone. Nigeria, Africa’s giant was ranked number Nine most generous country in Africa and 42nd most generous in the world a very big leap from last years 56th. Yes naa.. Dats why our politicians would rather thief money here and stash it in dubai, Us or UK. Dats why one prince here would generously offer a percentage of his inheritance for an oyibo who will help him retrieve his full inheritance. Though Nigerians are generous truly, just ask in d name of religion and watch dem give freely |

Thanks to igbo culture of helping one another, money donations at every event through unions and volunteering to do things once they find it is worth doing, if not the ranking would have been worse than this. You wonder why IPOB is strong? Yes it is because of these qualities....IPOB a self funded, self help and a volunteer worldwide network organization. Other notable groups like World Igbo Congress and other Igbo unions and associations within and outside the country especially in the business sector. Not also forgetting the family unit, where a man trains someone from his extended family or ethnic background in his line of business, the persons goes on to train another person and the chain continues. Let me hear them say igbos don't love themselves and let them see me do #Yimu 3 Likes |
