That will be so good! cool

Of course, it would. This is why foreign artistes in America, UK and other developed countries that do good music of unpopular genres (who are hardly invited for shows) still make it big time. e.g. Anthem lights, etc.

Piracy is bad
Say no to piracy
Would you like it if you create a content and people steal your work
With time and Money you spent.

Am actually thinking this is plagiarism.

This means they are eventually going to track down every single media content because they are obviously pirated or plagiarized, whether its psquare or don jazzy. There is simply a lack of originality in this country, they should ignore with it and face other pressing matters at hand.

I don't think you understand the concept. Now, we live in a country where the potential returns for investment into intellectual property (particularly media) have been scuttled by the sad incidence of rampant and unchecked piracy. And the entertainment industry is one of the biggest contributors to the economy. So, checking the incidence of piracy will increase returns on investment, encourage more local and foreign investment in Nigeria's entertainment sector and improve taxable returns for the government. Understood?

Joblessness let government track and jail looters especially APC politicians

You don't think it's better to invest more attention on what will grow the economy directly. Pls read through and understand. The potential that this has in generating revenue for the government is far-reaching; just as in other nations of the developed world.

If it can work any other place in the world it will work in Nigeria. The tracking framework integrates international agencies that GS1 and the likes to track content. We can now finally wave piracy good bye for good. And believe me, this will indeed be a needed economic boost for Nigeria

Instead of thinking of how to grow the economy, they are stifling the jobs of those hustlers selling on the road, and then forcing the masses to pay higher fees for content. I'm not saying the artists don't deserve their revenue, but lets be serious: If instead of N500, I now have to pay 2k for a CD, they are on a long ting...

Most of you are just making noise, how many of you have bought music on iTunes, Amazon or any online retail store,

Na una like Naijaloaded TooXclusive & notjustok.com pass, if you truly want to eradicate piracy, take down those rogues sites and let everyone start paying for all their media contents.

But how's that gonna be possible ? How many Nigeria Music and Video Consumers are ready to pay dollars for iTunes and Amazon or to pay dollars to Stream Music on SPOTIFY DEEZER OR TIDAL. ...

Don't forget what we are earning from Nollywood, with tracking of pirates, monies and revenues taken by pirates will be brought back.to the economy.
A similar Development of this is the digital switch over that will encourage more content and checkmate piracy.

Normally, I'd agree, but in this case this is my thinking:

If more money is given to Nollywood be reducing piracy, sure some of it will be spent on improving quality of content/production/talent, but the majority of the increase will be spent in Dubai or London as actors and producers have more money to party with - this is capital flight from the Nigerian public going abroad.

However, if piracy remains and there is less money in Nollywood, the Nigerian public will be able to hold on to more of its money, which is more likely to circulate within Nigeria more.

I realize it's a funny argument I'm making, since less money means we're starving Nollywood of its fuller potential, which ultimately will be better for the country.
