TOPIC- EXCUSES MUST “DIE!”

Yesterday the Lord used the story of John Foppe and other men/women who had reasons not to make it, but chose to confront their excuses and win. An interesting fact is that Mr. Foppe has been honored in the USA as one of the young Americans.

That not wonderful, a man without arms and seven other birth “mistakes” or defects? God want you to see that problem/obstacle as a challenge to be conquered. An old man approached a young man at the post office and asked, “will you please address this postcard for me? The young man gladly did so and then went on to write a short note for the old man. Before the young man left, he asked the old man: “Sir, is there anything also I can do for you? The old man replied: “Yes, at the end, could you please add: “please excuse the sloppy handwriting.” Can you beat that? He saw the title, negative part of wonderful service rendered and decide to focus on it and that’s how millions are!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 4: 10-17

What is that negative thing in your life that you are seeing? That is hardly any great man/woman that did not experience a delay or setback! Just some few hours to his final breakthrough battle, even the Lord Jesus was nearly swallowed up by excuses (Matt. 26: 39). Don’t allow that excuse to hold you down! Listen to A. W. Tozer: “A simple hearted man was asked how he managed to live such a state of tranquility even though he was surrounded by adverse circumstances. His reply was profound, yet simple: “I have learned to cooperate with the inevitable.”

Make the most of what you have! Stop complaining of what is not yet in your hands! Listen also to the man born without arms (Mr. Foppe):” Our environment shapes what we are, but do not determine what we are.” Use today’s devotional to declare war against any excuse In your life. Close with Rudyard Kipling: “We have forty million reasons for failure, but not a single excuse.” Arise, fight and win! By the grace of God, 2017 will go down in history as your special year in Jesus name. www.odmdaily.com
