The great land of Akwa Abasi Ibom State was created on September 27, 1987 by the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) military Presidential administration along wit her mate, the Katsina State. So, on the 27th of September, 2017, AkwaIbom will be 30 years.

AkwaIbom has continued to make landmark achievements that has placed the nation Nigeria and the African continent on a higher pedestal.

We have also been blessed withadministrators who have put aside their differences and worked hard to make AkwaIbom what it is today. Little wonder why this year’s celebration will be a celebration of People, Culture, Achievements, Triumph over trials and difficulties, Uncommon People oriented leadership and not only these, thirty years of unprecedented and unparallel Statehood.



To celebrate this years of unprecedented statehood, the Governor Gabriel Udom Emmanuel’s administration has put together a series of activities that started right from the first day of this September.

The uploads on facebook and all other social media platforms captioned “colour me orange” with the Governor being first to be coloured set the balls rolling.



To put the colour me orange photo into action thousands of AkwaIbom youths were seen in busy places and important places of the State’s capital, Uyo actually painted with the orange colour on Monday, 12 September, 2017.

Today, we will witness the parade by ladies as yesterday’s parade was that of the state’s gentlemen.
