Description
Covenant University Bioinformatics Research (CUBRe) has an opening for the job of a full-time Secretariat Staff (CUBRe Sec.). This role is expected to work with the Principal Investigator (PI)/Program Director (PD) to manage CUBRe projects including the newly NIH funded West African Sustainable Leadership and Innovation Training in Bioinformatics Research (WASLITBRe). The Secretariat Staff will be responsible to the CUBRe PI/PD. The position is planned for Five years in the first instance, but this staff will be evaluated every six (6) months.

Key Duties: Scheduling and taking minutes in meetings related to CUBRe. Provide real-time administrative support in the day to day operation of CUBRe. Providing support on projects. Organising and running events and projects related to CUBRe. Documentation and presentation of CUBRe projects and activities. Managing information flow within CUBRe.
Manage project budgets

Qualification
A first class or second-class upper Bachelor of Science degree from Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Chemistry and Biochemistry or other related Biological science degree course.
A degree in non-science field can be considered if the applicant can demonstrate sufficiently ability to follow science related activities.
A minimum of 2 years experience in this role in a recognised organisation, will be an added advantage.

Experienced and Knowledge may include:
Used Microsoft application or other software applications
Experienced in working in a research environment
Experienced in grant applications
Experienced in managing and documenting the day-to-day operations in an organisation
Experienced in organising and running an event
Experienced in presentations of a project

Soft Skills include:
Good team player and communicator.
Good with the use of Microsoft applications and other related software
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Able to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently without direct supervision.
