Tribalism, Religious Bias, And Sexism In Nigeria by therealsalasi: 6:08am On Sep 22, 2017
Nigeria came to be as a result of the 1914 amalgamation of North and the south by the British colonial Masters.

It is a blessed country from North to South, East to West, but Tribalism, Religious Bias and Sexism is one of the factors out of many that is weighing us down from achieving a strong and united Nigeria, where there is no crises as a result of our differences.

All my life I wish and hope Nigeria is more like The United States of America. USA has different cultures, immigrants from other countries came and settled there and they are more united than Nigeria, they have the Chinese, blacks who their forefathers were slaves, the Spanish and the Italians but they didn't see their self's as not from any part of the country even though there are still hate in some parts of USA and that doesn't stop them from loving their country and the part of country they came from or were born in.

Nigeria is different from America, as far as your parent are not part of that state you are denied your basic right, even though you are born and brought up in that locality, it happens both in the South and the North, I don't know where this came from but if we are not able to love or share, we won't go far, an example with Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) If Nigeria is not able to replace State of Indigene with State of Residence, people more like Nnamdi Kanu will come and deceive the down trodden with gullible thought of freedom and better country.

As a Nigerian I'm not clamouring for abandonment of religion but our religion should be accommodative, tolerant for others faith, that's what religion should all be about, we should love one another as our self's.

I'm in support of Interreligious Marriages, Intertribal Marriages and in support for women to be independently free from the societal opinions about what they should or shouldn't.

Gender discrimination in work places need to end. The government should do more to protect women in schools and work places from sexual harassment from prying eyes of old haggard men.

People should be allowed to choose the way they want to live as far as it doesn't harm or corrupt the society. This will go a long way to curb out unnecessary insurrection in the country. Love heals!
