Access to healthcare services is critical to good health, yet rural residents face a variety of access barriers. The causes of poor health globally is due to political, social and economic injustices.

Access to a good healthcare is important for:
1. The overall physical, mental and social health status
2. Life expectancy
3. Preventable death
4. Quality of life
5. Prevention of disease
6. Detection and treatment of illness

In a community with over 2500 women plus 3000 women in its neighbouring villages, it's so saddening that there is  just one Maternity center available to provide maternal health services.


Enuwa Health Center is located in Osun State, Nigeria, a State many believe to be the cradle of the Yoruba race.

The Health Center was commissioned in 1959, and has since then remain the only source of maternal health in the community, this single fact earned it it's name as "olomowewe" a Yoruba word meaning (mother of little kids).


The facilities in the maternity unit of Enuwa Health Center has continued to depreciate, until the center is presently left with....
