The entire Nigerian police force needs massive reorientation or massive retrenchment and bring in young vibrant graduates with the necessary training to combat crimes and other ills of the society. How do you even consider giving arms and right to shoot to a man who probably has criminal records, feels disenfranchised by the society and totally uneducated about the rules of law. Most of our police men and women fall into this category and this is one of the commonest reasons why they've not been able to do their job professionally and dispense their duty religiously without prejudice.
