The power to rule Nigeria from Yoruba land is seated in Ogun State. Unless you are an Ogun state indegene to get to a high position at federal level may become tough and far from possibilty. Olubunmi Eteh of Osun state tried to break this Jinx as the first house of represantative leader from Osun state and first female f to reach such high positon but within 6 months she was impeach and her position was granted to Dimeji Bankole of Ogun state. Chief Olu falae of Ondo state was greatly supported by a lot of people during the 1999 presidential election, even with all the supports, still lost to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo of Ogun State. Other Yoruba dignitaries also tried to emerge as the running mate of President Buhari in 2015 but they all lost to another Ogun state indigene, Prof Yomi Osinbajo.
Most great political position holders were mostly from Ogun state, former second in command to late sanni abacha, Oladipo dia, a former interim president, Ernest Shonekan and so on and so forth. It is believed that a special grace has been bestowed by God to the Ogun State indigene. Some believed it was because the Ogun state people were the first to accept, welcome and accomodate the early christian missionaries. The Bible was translated to Yoruba language and many Christian exploits took place there. Unike other area that held on to their idols. Some believed this was the reason God passed on the blessing and reward to the Egba offsprings and Ogun state decendants as the only sole owner of high political positions in Nigeria, the same way he did to David in the Bible as the only household to be ruling israel. If any non Ogun state indigene manage to get to such height, their is a chance that he or she may be impeached or disgraced like Olubunmi Eteh

I know you and your cohorts are trying hard to sow disunity in Yoruba land through any means available. but guess what? you have failed and will continue to fail.

Etteh misbehaved and she had to resign. nobody caused her misfortune. why was she chosen to represent Yoruba in the first instance if your insinuation was true?

Olu Falae was chosen by the Yoruba, but other Nigerians chose Obasanjo. you failed again.

Fashola or Tinubu would have been running mates to Buhari, but religious sensitivities were considered.

I think this is the problem we Yoruba's have we are not united forget this omoluabi changing deep down our heart we know we are religiously divided ondo and ekiti are Christian Yoruba's while osun,Ogun and Oyo are predominantly Muslim so Yoruba's Christians are skeptical of our Muslim brothers...they are prone to betrayal

Betrayal is engrained in their blood. No be today. I recall what a senior army officer from Edo state once said:" In the military whenever u want to plan and execute a coup never include a Yoruba man cos the day u do, the coup is dead even before its execution cos ... as snitches wud leak the details to whom the coup was intended for".
U wud be amazed that from Al Mustapha's revelation, the Abiola's mandate of d 93 election also had d support of some yoruba kinsmen who betrayed Abiola.
Before d war broke out, Awolowo once said goed the west follows. But what did it turn out to be? He got payed back as he cud never rule Nigeria and died in a funny circumstance. Betrayal pays indeed.
No wonder Chinua Achebe in his book "There was a country" lashed him.
