I said it to someone else before and i'll say myself: Domestic violence is a CRIME,it is not gender-dsicriminatory(i.e it can happen to anyone,male or female). In the eyes of the law,the man is the victim,his wife is the aggressor and should be punished accordingly(as it would've been,were it to be the other way round!)...That's the law and it's impartial.
