Not all. Especially that Mercedes Benz V-Boot and the BMW.

These are vehicles of less than 30 years.

Thank you o. It doesn't even make any sense. Unless the person behind this post is one of those underaged ones typing from their parents phones. OP should have added G Wagon, Bugatti, Lamborghini etc if he or she already assumed all of us were born yesterday.

Modified... Thanks

Overtime car manufacturers figured that the materials used in cars like the body, and wheels also contributed to it's weight thereby reducing speed and they came up with more rubber toys called toyotas and Honda's...long story short...olden days cars were very strong and durable compared to the your we have today... excluding benz tho, they still found a way to maintain quality and quantity

The two Mercedes Benzes (W123 and the W201) were made 1976 and 1983 respectively. They never plied our roads the last 57 years.

The OP's term (past 57 years) precludes the idea that the vehicle must have been in use by Nigerians for 57 years. Rather, it is a reflection of vehicles that graced our roads during the formative years of our nation, sort of "old school" if you get the drift.

The Mercedes in question was heavily in use througout the late 70s till even now. How old was Nigeria in 1978...about leaving her teens.

Wawoo! No 2 was my father's favorite till he died. He cherished no other..Twas the sedan...had power steering, leather seats, air condition...he called it the 'Peugeot 505 American Spec'..He preferred it to his other cars..the toyotas, and a Dodge..Dad, continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord. I miss you...nice one op.

Quite a misleading title and article by any measure. And this isn't the first time that Op is making posts without proper research.

Happy Independence day Nigeria!!! Every Oct. 1st is a day we observe and celebrate our independence as a nation, its a time we reflect, analyse and observe what we have went through as a nation and plan for what the future hold. For us at AutoReportNG, we decided to reflect back on cars that have rocked Nigerian roads for the past 57 years that we exist as a nation. These cars that we have compiled include Peugeot, Toyota, Benz, Hummer, Passat and the list are endless. This is more like a throw back time. Which of these cars do you remember? Can you name them?

Maybe you should have gone with car companies instead of models.

Well noted Sir.. But I think you need to understand that the objective is not about the models... The objective of this article is looking at the types of cars Nigerians have used and those cars that are in vogue then.. Car companies are very difficult to come by especially when it comes to releasing statistics and data.... I know what I have gone through so far and I won't want to talk about it.... The objective is well stated and not the car companies.

Thanks for your observation and thanks for correcting us.

Happy holidays
