There is no doubt that Owerri is not just one of the most beautiful cities in Igboland but also in the entire federation. The city has a lot going for it and is fast emerging as the new face of local tourism in Nigeria. The incumbent governor has been severely criticized for a lot of reasons like being a "sabo", doing "China" projects and spreading poverty due to "inhuman" demolition of markets and houses to make way for road expansion and urban renewal.

Regardless of what one may think of Rochas, one thing that is becoming clear to discerning and unbiased minds is that Owerri will be better for it if he efficiently completes the projects before the end of his tenure. Owerri municipal has grown in size of late and has merged with other towns like Naze, Egbu, Nekede, Awaka etc and with the relocation of Eke Ukwu and plaza to Aba road, Naze and others to Relief market, the city centre has become decongested while the suburbs are witnessing increased economic activities. Lands that recently sold for as low as 800,000 per plot at Naze for instance now goes for as high as 2.5m now, a massive 300% increase!

Smart investors are now buying lands around this areas based on the expected upsurge in economic activities around these areas. Now is the time to invest in lands around Naze and other places like Egbu because in a couple of years time, prices of land will be out of reach once the markets become fully operational.
