Your own point of view. I was trained with notepad and started from html,css, javascript, ajax and then proceeded to the server lang php et al.
I think it is a bad thing if you start web development and do not know jack about coding, it makes simple things look complicated for you.

Learn html, learnt the server technologies, at least write a simple php/asp code even if it is to spell your name.
My best advice is that, even if you are not going to be using coding, try learn html at the very least, then go to joomla or dreamweaver

I used to use corel, when i enter web developmment, i think say na the same. Thats why u see the graphics that are swapped in marknollis.com are not good in looks as much as one done this dayz by me in fireworks.

mr donline, it will appear that you have no idea of web graphics is about. Now answer the following questions:

- How will you do a transparent image in corel (i assume you know what that means)
- How do you make animated gifs
- Image hotspots (what is also known as hotspots)
- How do you export html image pages from corel to dreamweaver
- How do you export light jpegs for the web
- How do you make progressive images (i assume you know that means)
- Let me stop there

In summary, i support the fact that corel draw is very good for developing graphics generally, but when it comes
to making your graphics compatible for the web, you need to add something like fireworks. If you read my post
carefully, i mentioned the fact that i use coreldraw atimes to do some things that fireworks are not so suited for.

It is good that we are all in agreement. BTW i have a friend who can use fireworks and corel too, but sometimes uses powerpoint to
design some stunning stuffs, but will still bring it to fireworks for clean ups and web compatibility.

Ya thats true. And it also depends on how familiar and good the developer is with the application.

Maybe i will try learning how to use corel too for the web, cause na fireworks don scatter my brain although like i said, i started out as a graphics designer with corel draw

Like i always say, it is good to know many approaches so you can pick which of your skill sets is best for any given job.
Though i usually put programmer in my port folio, but that does not mean i dont know how to design or use corel draw,
or photoshop. I only outsource design when necessary.
