Can you imagine? What does that do to the image of the Samsung 8?

I see Samsung eventually focusing their attention to the more profitable arrangements - making components for Apple and any other interested brand.

For me, I will be hanging on to TECNO...lol. And I won't miss on their Massive Discounts on Devices - a celebration of Nigeria at 57.

Welcome to modern manufacturing economy. Everybody relies on somebody for a particular component. Nobody does it all alone. Even Samsung.

Samsung phones use Sony cameras, Qualcomm SOCs, etc.

The name of the game is be the best in what you can be. Samsung makes great displays so Apple has to go with them. It is not a war, it is business.

But Apple is NOT only about having money.

Apple makes the best smartphone processor and SOC. It is not child's play.

Apple makes a very viable mobile operating system -IOS; that is not child's play too.

Apple makes a lot of specialized processors and silicon for mobile phones; that is unassailable.

You can hate them or love them, but they are here to stay and they are pulling their weight in the mobile space. Do not hate the player, hate the game!

Same reason you don't think less of an architect because an Engineer built the house he designed. Or less of an Engineer because a bricklayer formed the blocks.

Contract Manufacturing, our outsourcing is the name of the game these days.

Even Nike, the biggest sporting goods brand in the world, doesn't own a single factory.

The primary role of a business is innovation and marketing (apologies to Peter Drucker).

Outsourcing manufacturing isn't dissimilar to outsourcing the sanitation of your office.

Sony didn't manufacture the PS4, Foxconn did.

Microsoft didn't manufacture the Xbox One either, foxconn did too.

Many fail to realize that what really sets Apple apart is their OS. The seamless operation of the OS with the hardware is not something you get any where else as everything is fully optimized.

Let's even forget about iPhone. You need to use a mac to fully appreciate Apple, believe me, you will never go back to windows.

People may see iPhone as being stupid or not innovative using Samsung parts but that's the smartest way of doing business and one of the reasons our indigenous companies can't set a pace..
