I hope the question you're solving on your question paper is different from the two questions I am seeing? Question 2 requires you to prove that the sum of square deviation of the parameter estimate is equal to zero. It is quite a long process that may take 30 minutes to solve. I know you wanted a straight question that requires just writing or solving what is in you're note. Although the Lecturer's grammar is poor.

Infact, after second observation, I discovered that one can solve question 2 from 1. I.e, solve for unbiased estimator (1) and then sum of error term. Both involving an adoption of Gaussian assumptions and then sum cancellation to give zero.

After reading and practicing for calculations for an econometrics test yesterday behold what the lecturer set. For nearly 15 minutes I blanked out. Scholars in the house happy solving...

u never see anything self... let me give u one trick.. don't ever try to grab all d formulas when preparing for econometrics, grab d few ones wey u fit... econometrics formulas nobi first step but from beginning of d solving to d end.

When the errors amount to zero, it's homoskedacity.

But if errors don't amount to zero, it's heteroskedacity.

The questions are just elementary in econometrics...

its a significance of regression coefficients. if u check d question again, u would know its all about errors before judgement(hypothesis). if the null hypotheses should be rejected or accepted,. now u check d probability of of having a type 1 error or two error with either decisions u make. u state they hypotheses then set the decision criteria . these r works of pearson n d likes of fisher. hope u get d basic?

Best stated thus: When the error term has constant variance, it is know as homoskedacity, otherwise, it is heteroskedacity. The error term has zero mean and constant variance. I.e, the error term is normally distributed.
