Some incontrovertible facts keep proving that the present day government in Oyo state is not paying lip service the economic diversification .

In the 6 years of the Ajimobi-led government so far, a total of 2,018,764,020 Naira [2.018 Billion Naira] has been disbursed as Agricultural Loans to a total number of 9,738 Farmers across Oyo state; this is somewhat incomparable to the total 730,713,770 Naira [730.71 Million Naira] disbursed to a total 6,837 Farmers over 12 years [between 1999 and 2011].

People always say "Food is cheap in Ibadan/Oyo state", the throng of patronage has earned Oyo state the food basket of the southwest. But then, this unprecedented intervention in direct loans to farmers and farmer clusters has helped to further boost agricultural yield in no small way, not forgetting its economic impact on the people and the state likewise.

The testimonies of higher and improved yield received from these loan beneficiaries who we saw at Cassava Processing "Abàs" in Papa Ayo Tewure Orire LGA, Abà Ola in Iseyin LGA, and Abà Ilero in Kajola, and a Cassava Processing Plant in Kajola, as seen in the pictures below, all attest to the drive to make Oyo state the food basket of not only the southwest, but of the nation.
