Nigeria is far beyond redemption to progress. It can never progress. If it is ready to progress let it adopt the Chinese rule of executing corrupt public office holders first.

Also cut down cost of running the govt where recurrent expenditure should be far lesser than capital expenditure. Capital projects financed creates jobs, spreads wealth, improves general infrastructure with positive impact on d quality of lives of the populace and ease of doing business.

Nigeria is doomed.

good thread best remark!
This should have been the thread we would have open daily on this platform instead of creation threads of blood feud between ethnics and religion groups.
we must know the real problems of Nigeria before we think about the solution.
i. the gab between the rich and poor.
ii. congestion of urban area.
iii. abject poverty.
iv. bad leadership
v. corruption.
Solution:
The totality of money stolen is people's money, the capital projects expenditure;
The recurrent expenditure is never available for looting, otherwise it's increase yearly in our national budget, the money needed to run political office, and public civil servants.
Budget padding on constituency projects, Abandoned already awarded contracts, ghost workers payment etc were all stolen from capital expenditure.
Why it is hard to win anti-corruption war is because, people didn't directly concern or involve in the money recovered from the looted fund.
people believe, it was the politicians that looted the money, it's the same politicians, that recovered the money, it is the same politicians that will decided on the looted money recovered and at last the money recovered will be return to the same politicians to re-manage!
That is where people lost confident about the war against corruption and not fully support or involved in it's fight.

The whistle blower is one of the successful policy of this administration; It's because of 12 to 25% over of the money recovered to those who blow whistle that lead to the recovered money .

Now to totally eradicated corruption in Nigeria government must adopted a policy that will return the recovered looted money to the owner(the people) directly for manage, with out any intermediary of the politicians.

The only way to do this is to Create WARD GOVERNMENT (WG) and this government executives be voted to the office by the people of each ward in Nigeria and mustn't involved any politician (an independent candidate) to carry out the ward constituency projects.

By this policy Nigeria will have 4 tiers of governments;
i. Federal Government
ii. 36 State governments
iii. 774 Local governments
iv. 9,572 Ward governments
The development and prosperity of Nigeria will come rapidly and certainly.
Nigeria Annual budget of N7.44 trillion is largely enough to develop Nigeria to the Developed nation, if corruption is banished

yah as we were loosely on any Idea, until when we bind together working hand in hand on an Idea like thie forwarded it to our law makers to create it's bill take it to house for deliberation and adoption.
WARD GOVERNMENT WG when adopted will be a direct allocation to every home in Nigeria.
We should watch our politician adotion their only ideas on us, we have our own geinue ideas that will make Nigeria better;
look:

If the LCDA(Local Council Development Area created by Lagos state governor, Oyo state governor, Ogun state governor is to bring government nearer to the people I am calling them to strike them out and call for the creation of WARD GOVERNMENT.
That's only way they can bring the government nearer to the people and people will feel dividend of democracy.

WARD GOVERNMENT (WG) CREATION BILL
The executives of the wg government must not inform politicians, they must be universally voted by ward, for a mandate of four years and two terms non renewable.
Wg functions is to carry out the constituency projects, borehole, taken care of old age, security, routes, electrification, sanitation etc

By this policy Nigeria will have 4 tiers of governments;
i. Federal Government
ii. 36 State governments
iii. 774 Local governments
iv. 9,572 Ward governments

Adetewa, I sincere value your thoughts and projection but by our nature, creating extra layer and "offices" of government will not help us.
We are a people who have not been able to tame power. We are ruled by the influence and money political exposures bring.
Ordinary Counsellor has entourage, they move like demi-gods and deal with anyone who questions them. This is not the solution.

To make the simple complicated is a skill, but to make the complicated simple is a STRENGTH.

You've said it all, To bond together for a positive and productive purpose is all we need. A total overhaul of our moral and ethical meters. And to learn first, what true governance and leadership is, before we aspire to leadership position. And lastly, to do what is expected and true as a leader. Nothing more, nothing less.

If Nigeria is like Dubai, which region will like to leave? None

If we are like Great and developed nations, you think we all wil not be proud to belong to such nation?

We are not blessed with good leaders and we can only change that history and narratives when the youths of this country realise who they are.

But what does our youth do now? Sex, flex, scam, football, drugs and cultism......... And hating each other.......

All Presidential, governors, HoA/S office seekers should give away half of their Assets before contesting. They should also donate half of their entire earnings to motherless baby homes if they win. This is a cardinal game changer in Nigeria that will produce those who truly want to serve. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

good, all what you said our youths were doing today is because their time is available for nothing.
The WARD government is the real and sure way to go.
and it's management will not be complex and complicated as other three tiers of the government and it's cost of runing will not high as them, it's executives will not be politicians but local ward citizen living permanently in the ward will be eligible into the office, a flat is enough for the Ward head office and 5 to 7 executive members maximum voted univasally is enough to carry out the affair of the ward government, headed by District head.
Funding the Ward government will not bring much problem,
The controversial constituncy project fund will be remeved from law maker and allocated to the Ward government
The reduction of 20% of the disputed recurrent expenditure of 70% annual budget and allocated it to ward government
The 10% deduction from Lg, Sg, Fg and added it to ward government allocation
Then 20% of the looted recovered fund and injected it to the ward government allocation
This will bring money directly to the poorest people and their standard of living will be improving greatly
The functions will be among the constituency projects, sanitation, security, old-age well fare, routes, electrification, etc
support the The ward government to free the people from greediness of the politicians

Note before, the governor were starting creating another government offices for ther colleague that I didn't support; The LCDA!
Ambode of Lagos had created 42 LCDA, Amosu of Ogun state 37 LCDA, Ajumobi of Oyo state 35 LCDA!
These will be a wastage of resources and a deceit to the people, if they think about bringing government nearer to the people the nearest way to go is WARD GOVERNMENT WG
If they don't know let them know!

the northerners have rejected every reasonable suggestions to bring Nigeria out of the woods hence the call for peaceful break up.

No region should be seen to be greater than the other,in this geographical space we are all equal.

pls don't buy the deceit of politicians, no Northerner government they shared the loot in common.
And the Commoners shared the sufferance in common.
the only way to free the Commoners is to let them have their own government administered it for their own self interest;
The WARD GOVERNMENT WG
