I have been submitting my works for the past four years now for the NLNG prize but still i don't make the final list. I don't know if the panels are bias toward those with lesser degrees, at least i hold a master degree.

Doesn't Oke mean rat in Igbo language?
Well good for him.
Oke also means 'share' in Igbo Language.

His full name is Okechukwu which roughly translates to 'The Share that God has given to me'.

Oke could mean two things in Igbo
1= rat
2= share
The later I believe is what he bears. It is pronounced just as yorubas call top oke

Lol...

Igbo does not always translate exactly like that.

But I am sure 'Oke' in that 'UgwuOke' does not mean 'share' or 'portion'.

'UgwuOke' means 'Great Mountain'.

The 'Oke' in that 'UgwuOke' stands for GREAT, not RAT.

Some Igbo tribes would rather call it 'OkeUgwu'. They are all the same thing.
