INEC prepares for Anambra elections, deploys 6,000 card readers ahead poll

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has displayed the commission’s readiness to conduct governorship election in Anambra slated November 18, with deployment of over 6, 000 card reader machines to ensure smooth conduct on the said date.

Besides, candidates and political parties including ruling party, All Progresive Grand Alliance (APGA), All Progressive Congress (APC), People Democratic Party (PDP), as well as members too, in the state, have also shown their preparedness for the forthcoming election in Anambra.

The Administrative Secretary, INEC, Anambra, Charles Mbanaja, disclosed that, in proving the commission’s readiness for the state governorship election, INEC began moving of material into the state including the reported 6,000 card readers.

Speaking to newsmen on the development in Anambra on Tuesday, Mbanaja hinted that out of the machines provided 5,000 had been tested and found to be in good working condition.

The secretary assured stakeholders of the readiness of the commission to provide a level playing ground to in all candidates participating in the election and urged politicians to play by the rules.
