Fec Meeting Cancelled Again! by Boboribo: 4:30pm On Mar 10, 2010
The story is that the AP attended an International Conference and rescheduled the meeting for 2pm and at the said time it was further cancelled.  Two things either the AP has nothing important to say to the Ministers or he is simply disgusted by their disloyal sight.  I think its both.  But coming few days after the renewed Jos crisis, I feel the meeting should have been convened.  This is the disdain to which our public office holders hold us to.

Latest News, National News Mar 10, 2010 By Daniel Idonor
FOR the second time in three weeks, the weekly Executive Council of the Federation, EXCOF, meeting Wednesday did not hold as planned, due to a very day for the Acting President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, which took better part of the day.

The postponement is despite the shift from the usual time of 10:00 am, that the meeting is held, to 2:00 pm yesterday; following the assumption that Jonathan might be very busy in the early hours of the day.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, who smartly walked into the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, venue of the meeting, told cabinet members that the Acting President approved the postponement, saying that the decision was to enable him attend to other crucial matters of paramount importance.

“Attention the Acting President is just closing from an international conference on Agro Allied Business seminar, and coming back to the residence. He is equally engaged with other state duties. So he has asked me to convey to you that this executive council meeting is cancelled. Next week insha allah it will be convened or any day that the acting president deems it fit to reconvene”, SGF said.

Cabinet members who had rushed into Aso Rock to attend the meeting, in order beat the 2:00 pm scheduled time, were however disappointed, especially those who had come to lobby for the approval of their contract memorandum to Council.

Two weeks ago the EXCOF meeting could not following its cancellation by the Acting President, in the midst of th3e political heat generated by the sudden but secret arrival of ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua, to Nigeria from Saudi Arabia.

Since assumption of office as Nigeria’s Acting President, consequent to the resolution of the National Assembly declaring him to that effect, Jonathan has not only increased his working hours daily, he has also increased his working days.
