The official runtime for Thor: Ragnarok refutes former reports and confirms Taika Waititi’s Marvel movie to be the longest Thor film yet. The God of Thunder, played by Chris Hemsworth, first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Kenneth Branagh’s 2011 film, Thor, and he returned to join the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers. The superhero’s second solo film arrived in Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World in 2013, and he returned again to his team of fellow heroes in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, while Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) went head to head in Captain America: Civil War, Thor was offworld.

Now, the God of Thunder will receive his third solo movie this fall, and trailers for Thor: Ragnarok tease a much different adventure for Hemsworth’s hero – with director Waititi at the helm this time. The trailers have showcased a much more light-hearted Thor movie, though there will be plenty of epic action with the introduction of Goddess of Death, Hela (Cate Blanchett). Additionally, previous reports about the Thor: Ragnarok runtime indicated it would be the shortest Thor movie yet, but the official runtime indicates the opposite to be true.
