As an Activicist

Governor Adams Oshiomole's appeal as a Labour union protagonist lies in the fact he is not just a regular bloke thrust in to extraordinary situations. Over the years, Nigerians have churned out a worrying chunk of intrinsically one-dimensional types endowed with unbelievable dexterity and noise – ideal for for bringing home your demands, but inherently useless from an emotional point of view. Not so with Oshiomole. Throughout his tenure as a labour leader, our loveable Activist  displays on ample occasions that he is – as intelligent as the notion sounds – human; he’s not a near-invulnerable human, and he certainly almost always make the right judgment call. These factors alone facilitate Oshiomole's universal appeal as a man whom anyone can relate to, and one that Nigerians can instantly embrace. Oshiomole could therefore regarded as the man of the people.

Seeking Political Power.

His entrance into the Political macellarius has undoubtedly raised alot of eyebrows, reason being that most people think the  process of activism and unionism is quite different from the nasty game of Nigeria politics. Immediately he entered into the political scene, his credibility was questioned by alot of Nigerians. This is obviously due to fact that we have seen many labour leaders occupying political offices and have equally been worse than those they once criticized. Undeterred in his quest to create a perfect example of what Governance should be, Oshiomole attempted to lay to rest the issue of Bad Governance by participating in the flawed 2007 election and lost painfully, but his determination lead him into a judicial battle with the theft of his mandate. Mandate was however restored after a hefty 18months struggle.

As a Governor.

Oshiomole Policies and strategies have showed to his people that True Governance has come to stay, Policies aimed at changing the general overhaul of the state, Policies aimed at putting the problem of Erosion to an end, Policies aimed at creating Jobs for young struggling Nigerians, policies aimed at instituting the fear of Government- where Government properties are taken care of, and so on. He has also formulated strategies to expose Umbrella’s ([insert PDP] here)  illegal activities by constantly working round the clock to ensure All loopholes in his government are sealed up.

Now, it would be disingenuous  to suggest Oshiomole doesn’t have a political flaw in his body. Well, OK, near enough, but he does sport some notable changes in what Governance in Nigeria once looked like. The ability of other Governors to borrow some of his policies would make Nigeria a better Nation.
