We all know that jealousy is evil. From the bible it is condemned.
I dont have all the full view of how evil it is,but sometimes we are blinded to the ramifications of this evil.

What is jealousy- it's allied to envy and it's a coveting of someting good some one else has.
Using the term envy and jealousy interchangeably, it is more wicked than some people think.
When talking of jealousy, some ppl say things like, "When i saw his own thing , e.g an item/artifact/achievement" I got jealous.
or "Man, i envied her etc"
It's taken as a lil harmless fleeting vice which most ppl can't help but indulge. It's not.
In the bible, It's clearly stated that "all good gifts come from above".
Envy or jealousy is an unholy reaction to the goodness of God in another person's life.
When jealousy is present, there's a spirit of competition.
A striving to outdo.
But this is ungodly. As it gets more insidious, the one possesed by jealousy not only fails to praise God for a manifestation of his glory in another person but that person, exerts energy or wishful thinking at diminishing the glory of God in such a life.
They fight to snuff out God's glory in anoda. This is as anti God and satanic as can be.

Cain killed Abel, because Cain was possessed of jealousy.
He didnt see that Abel,his brother's success, was nothing other than the hand of God on his life.
That Abel was manifesting the glory of God. And so was a human reflector of the divine.
He shouldve praised God for being witness to such spectacles but he attacked it- by attacking the beneficiary of the divine. When he killed Abel, he must have said, yeah, that serves him right.
He's gone.
When Joseph was having those dreams, God's ability was working in Joseph's life.
His brother saw the channel thru which something supernatural was working thru,
they attacked the channel, to destroy it. Thinking that in so doing they'd attack the source-God.
In real life, we see poor bully rich kids in school.
Others secretly delight and gloat over the mishaps of those far better off than them.
But like joseph's brother's they're really attacking God and in so doing are acting exactly like the devil.

The spirit of jealousy is the spirit of striving, self-comparison and competition.
Ironically, the jealous/envious one attacking or resenting what quality/thing another has , would want that
same thing in his life.
E.g the poor who hate the rich and criticize them, and call them thieves etc,
or those who denigrate having riches, saying it isthe root of all evil, would
never say no to riches if given to them.

The woman/girl who tears of the face of her fellow colleague whom she feels is a rival for the heart of a lover,
would hav loved to be as beautiful also. Yet here she is destroying what she wouldve desired in another.

Cures for jealousy/envy:

- stop comparing yourself with some one better than you
- dont compare yourself with any one
- when you see some one with a superlative quality you have or desire ,
repent for feeling inadequate(why? You felt inadequate because you wer comparing yourself with some one else)
- Thank God for the gift/property/quality that another has. (Thank God for the manifestation of his
qualities in the life of another and for letting you witness this goodness)

- Know that they're some people so much mor better than you at anything you do they make you look like
a novice.
