No amount of your preaching can change a drunk man

asuustrike2009:

The last scripture says it all.

If you mean this

4 it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, 5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.

then its you who seems to misinterpret the Bible.

I want to believe you are implying that "decreed" means verse 4. That is not correct at all.

Kings and rulers use decrees to deliver judgment, verse 4 is not a decree so which decree is verse 5 talking about. Its simply the law, or in modern times the constitution.

Would you want a drunk judge to sentence you to jail. A drunk king, to represent your village? No! So thats exactly what that verse advices rulers and kings. As a matter of fact, it does not outlaw them from taking wine.

So where are you getting sin from?

One most important reason to ignore the OP,
1. Jesus turned water into. WINE!

Drinking alcohol is not a sin by any means abusing it is.

People let's stop deceiving ourselves. We christians also were once slaves of these substances. The moment you gather drinking liquor, flesh is more magnified than the spirit. We are advised severaly in the scripture to be sober. Occasionally one can take liquor in very mild quantity provided it doesn't lead to misbehaving. Remember the Israelites who had much to drink and eat and then rose to orgies. In that state they sinned much against God.

Is drinking a sin?

Nobody is deceiving anybody sir, I just want you to know their are several categories of drinkers. Back your second point with bible reference pls

Bible reference

That's exactly what I'm saying. They drank too much and misplaced priorities leading to sin.

Above all let's not categorize drinking or smoking ( weed ) as a sin.
1. A drinker always craves liquor and if he has discipline might always avoid getting drunk. Liqour is gradually getting the better of that person. Bible says that you should let none of these things to master you.

2. Roman 14vs 17 speaks about Holy Spirit being the source of peace and joy of a believer and not liquor. Roman 13vs 13 talks about avoiding orgies and drunkenness as they attract immorality and indecency. Check out the results of drinking, it's hardly moral in most cases. 1peter 4vs7 talks about being sober as a christian so you will be alert and always ready to pray. I tell you again, life is a warfare and a soldier does not get involved with distractions 2tim 2vs4. Being sober as a Christian is also advised in 1 thess 5vs6-8

Lastly, drinking little leads to drinking much except in rare cases where people have high discipline.

God watches our heart and see motives behind all our actions. All God's way are rewarding.

You definitely desire freedom by asking this question. I was myself once a drunkard until the awareness of God got magnified in my life. Dear, sincerely desire Jesus and His Holy Spirit, not religion oo. Sincerely call on him and freedom will meet you. There is nothing on earth as intoxicating as the Holy Spirit. This is the reason people like us don't count on liquors to be happy or ease stress. I release freedom unto you. Go and drink no more.
hahahahahaha.... As easy as that?

75 BIBLICAL REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT
DRINK ALCOHOL

1 BIBLICAL REASON WHY YOU SHOULD
DRINK ALCOHOL

John 2: 7-11 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

If Jesus turned water into alcohol who are we to say alcohol is bad?

Permission to drink!

There fixed.

By the way I ate cake preserved in alcohol yesterday. I have sinned. Even the blood tonic i took too has alcohol. I have sinned.

How can you sin when you drank alcohol? The first miracle of Jesus Christ was to turn water into alcohol

◄ Colossians 2:16 ►

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or DRINK, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

1 Timothy. Paul says, “Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities” (1 Tim 5:23)

in these two verses and many more, wine were not condemned but recommended especially in the latter.

Wine/alcohol has always and will always remain a special gift from the God to mankind, However Christians are warned on the dangers of taking (excessive) wine which obviously dulls the sense.

my point though.
