Many people point out that a fool is noted by various characteristics among which are
: laziness, wantonness etc.
One prominent unmistaken sign that you're dealing with a confirmed fool is
they spurn good counsel and are quick to contemn (to look down on something/some1 and despise a thing).
The two are actually the same. A person who is quick to express contempt for a thing, will more often than
not be quick to express contempt for a valuable thing.
You could say that the rate at which a person accrues contempt determines the rate at which he will enter fooldom.

A person, whom when you give advice or is presented with advice, immediately spurns it without even
considering is a fool.
Often people with this trait, act impulsively out of their base emotions.
They hate thinking.
They hate admitting that they are wrong.
They repeatedly exhibit the same trait over and over again!!.

A wise person stops , thinks, ponders and considers suggestions, advices etc
Not always but often. Because of this they are cautious and meditative in their decision making.
A fool- acts off the cuff of their sleeves.

A fool, will disregard sound counsel because of who it comes from, because to them counsel must look like
the counsellor? This phenomenom is so rampant we are blind to it.
IN the bible, Naman's leprosy was cured from the moment he listened to his harvard doctors? No. But when he didnt dismiss the advice of his maid!
He almost lost it ,when he spurned elisha's command to go deep in the lake. Why? Because, the solution had to look glamourous, because the lake was not olympic size standard with underwater lights it couldnt be God?
Big manism almost cost him his cure. But when gehazi ran up to him and persuaded him to listen and heed the command of the prophet , he , Namaan, stopped, pondered, and acted - albeit with trepidation - and what happened! He got his miracle.
Namaan, was a wise man. His wisdom saved him.
Can the same be said of Nabal? Impetousness,a hallmark of fools, shooting his mouth without thinking , almost cost him his life. But his wife, Abigail, kept his head on his foolish neck by interceding on his behalf behind his back! Abigail was a wise woman.
She stopped,pondered and acted fast!!

For the wise there's a time to stop and think and a time to act-fast without delay.

How about the widow that Elijah was sent to?
Elijah's demand could have sparked some sarcasm from her.
Give him her last meal, when her and her son were starving? Is he <insert-your-favorite-insult-here>?

But she held her tongue! She may have been brimming with sarcasm,it cud have been on the edge of her lips,
but she didnt say it.
She complained though, but was assured. Her refusal to quickly express contempt earned her life.

The Canaanite that Jesus called a dog:
How dare Him? But she with the sting of the insult pleaded the more.
It earned her life.

We see a prevalence of this kind of thinking in today's society.
You dont have a secondary/university/master's education - therefore- you are sub human!!
Anything u say or do because u dont have x is invalid and inadmissible! Foolish thinking.
