This infographic from CDC provides information on how you can watch your salt intake. High salt or sodium intake has been linked to serious medical conditions such as heart diseases. Do you know that you are more likely to consume more salt if you eat a lot of processed foods?

One form of processed food that has become a staple in many homes is instant noodles. Do you know that a pack of noodles comes with about 800mg of sodium which is half of your daily requirement? In a 2017 report, the average packet contributed 35% to 95% of the World Health Organization recommended daily salt intake of <5 g. Recently, a Nigerian physician suggested that frequent consumption of noodles may partly explain the rising numbers of young persons with high blood pressure. According to a recent study Seoul, frequent consumption of instant noodles was found to be associated with increased cardiometabolic risk factors among apparently healthy college students aged 18-29 years.
