We must ensure good governance and assist the government to prevent and cure corruption in all sectors .

Kings College is a case study to illustrate how civil servants frustrate the anti-corruption stance of the government.The school management fraudulently circumvent the Treasury Single Account(TSA) policy , to swindle students and their parents.

For a typical, fresh, 2017 JSS1 boarding student at Kings College,the total mandatory fees paid into the Kings College Remita account number 051702610000,was N136,500= and this includes a subsidized rate of N15,000, for text books.

However,students were given only three textbooks(Mathematics textbook and work book, plus Basic Science) and were asked to pay N25,000,cash,for "extra'' textbooks.

A typical Jss1 student will take like 17 subjects,so in essence,those that did not pay N25,000 cash ,were given textbooks for only 2 subjects out of 17!


In a just concluded midterm break,the students were give holiday assignments in all the 17 subjects,as part of compulsory, continuous assessment, and they must answer the designated questions in the various workbooks.

This fraudulent strategy forced parents to pay the N25,000 cash, for the so called ''extra'' textbooks,for the remaining 15 subjects.


I believe this is a corrupt practice that is worth exposing.

That is N40000 for books in a public school.
The principal should be arrested at once.
