Niger Delta Ex-militants Threaten To Shut Down Economy Over Unpaid Stipend by dosantos: 12:58pm On Nov 03, 2017 |
Daily post. Former Niger Delta militants, under the Amnesty Phase II, have threatened to go back to the creeks to cause more damages to the Nigerian economy if the Presidential Amnesty Office fails to pay their entitlements. Aron Emmanuel, Roland Moses and Segba Perez as Chairman, Secretary and Public Relations Officer respectively, gave the warning on behalf of the ex-militants during a conference in Warri on Thursday. The ex-militants claimed that they have not received their entitlement since 2010 after their training. They also accused officials of the Presidential Amnesty Office of diverting their stipends kept in Fidelity Bank and Ecobank. “We have not received any payment since that time”, they said. “We call on President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to help correct the anomalies in the Presidential Amnesty Office with a view to paying us our entitlements as we are now ready to return to the creeks to create more troubles and cause damage to the economy of the country”. |
