It is unfurtunate that the social media provide avenue for people who does not even know what they are doing to express their ignorance and poke thier nose on what does not even concerned them. Following comments on this issue indicate that either the people that blame the teachers for failing the examination were agents of the government or are not indigine of the state. One good question that we fail to ask ourselves is 75% in any examination is graded as what? How will you feel if in an examination mark over 100 to rate you that score 50% as a failure. People outside the state should not be deceived by the Government propaganda that the teachers failed the examination. Judge the teachers using the following parameters.
1. Where in the world of western education state that to pass a competency test you must score 75%?
2. Who set, conduct and mark the examination?
We should learn the ideal of balance journalism or investigative journalism to avoid bias conclusion. In the recent WAEC result released shows that
Kaduna State is the First in the North and Twelve in the country. The question is who tought this students at foundation level (primary school) that has performed excellently?. The answer was that they are the present teachers that fail primary four exams.

Nigeria my country.
Even if you ain't a fan of Mr. El Rufia, the test is very necessary & process applaudable.
The teachers don't necessarily need to be sacked they can be made to undergo compulsory training after which they are re-evaluated.

Teachers play a huge role in shaping a child and we should not accept unqualified teachers. What rubbish.

Heard recently that some primary school graduates cannot read and write. Why producing half or unbaked graduates sef.
It's better to be a full fledged illiterate than an uneducated graduate.

They are not different from pupils in the east who took to their heels when soldiers were trying to diagnose them. They are suffering from ignorance. Education in the north and east is really behind the Yorubas brilliance. No wonder Yoruba's are sophisticated and intelligent

Only in Nigeria.

Only on Nigeria my brother, someone legit went to rouse this kids for this nonsense, why not face their problems alone, if I were the governor I'd investigate, fond out the people involved in this rubbish, prosecute them first, still go ahead with the planned sack of the incompetent teachers. Shame on the parents association of this school if they don't take action.

THIS NEWS GOT ME THINKING:
1. 21,000 teachers sacked in a single state that certainly is in dire need of teachers for its ever-growing schools population?
2. The sacked teachers could not pass primary 4 questions - that is, if you make allowance for those that manipulated their way into pass grade?
3. Primary school pupils protested against the sack - is that evidence of 'catch-'em-young' (where politics can get you anything?
4. What image does this development create for the state and country?
5. Could this not be a sample statistic that represent the parameter of the Nigeria schools population?

Education is dead in the North of Nigeria.Imagine that they failed Primary Four test.

Actually we don't need to imagine that, the protesting pupils of theirs are enough proofgrin

If it were common entrance exam then we can begin to imagine that there might not be any staff left in the schools and the saddest part is we shall struggle to find replacements stillgrin Education isn't dead there it just never existed there by this wonderfully fantastic protest.

I hope it's well documented for researchgrin

It should make Guinness book of records toogrin

This are the kind of schools where they use vernacular to teach their students. I remember when i served, virtually all the schools in that village use vernacular to teach their students . Then i asked, what are they teaching them then.
