I can't for the life of me understand why Chelsea fans (home n abroad) are so quick to point fingers at this guy anytime their team or coach are having a difficult phase...Seems to me like he did a good job for Mr Abramovich

He did incredibly well during his days at the club, with notable signings like Hazard kante Kalou, azpillicueta, Mata, matic, cahill(When he de hot for Bolton that year) Malouda, sturridge, courtouis, Torres, merrieles, Alex and lots more. I think Antonio conte is behind this resignation

Rumour has it that conte have been blaming Chelsea's poor form this season on the boards(technical directors) because they refused to sign the players he needed during the transfer window
he's not the only one that did all dos deals........... Marina was der too....... Mind you he has always been the major problem in chelsea....... I love it d way he has resigned...!!!!

Chai!! I remember Algiers '90 nation cup when this guy Emenalo break one Algerian player leg with very baaaaad tackle. shocked shocked shocked
You're wrong. It was Bright Omokaro, an Afonja that ended the Algerian player's career. Emenalo joined the Super Eagles only for the USA 94 World Cup

I remember very well when then Super Eagles Technical Advisor, Clemens Westerhof, listed an unpopular Mike Emenalo in our final team selection for Nigeria's first appearance at the FIFA World Cup, USA '94. He was brought in as cover for the preferred left-back, Benedict Iroha.

Cue forward to the summer of 1994, at the mundial and Ben Iroha got injured in our first game, a resounding 3:0 victory over Bulgaria. Mike Emenalo stepped into the fray and held that wing for the rest of the tourney till our infamous 2nd round loss to the Azzuris of Italy.

In just those 3 and a half caps for the Super Eagles, Mike Emenalo won the heart of many a fans with his brilliant connection from defensive functions to supporting the attack...in an era when the attacking wing back was yet unknown to football.

Cue further forward to 2007, Avram Grant, the Israeli manager was employed by Chelsea as their new gaffer and he quickly invited Emenalo to join him at Chelsea as the "Chief Opposition Scout". They had worked together in the past at Maccabbi Haifa or so, if my memory hasn't failed on that point. Avram saw something in Emenalo enough to trust him to bring him along to Chelsea. However, Avram didn't last long on the job and was sacked when he lost the Champions League final to rivals, Manchester United.

Mike Emenalo was promoted to membership of Chelsea's playing staff recruitment committee and went on to become the final approver of new player deals when he was promoted to the position of Technical Director...all in a space of 5 years after joining the club as a scout!

There must be something the owner, Roman Abramovich, saw in him to so trust him. Managers came and managers went, players were bought and players sold yet Mike Emenalo remained a major constant and always ubiquitous in the Chelsea technical bench as the faces around him revolved. For this reason, perhaps, it has been so easy for the uninformed fan to blame him for the perceived failures during his time. Failure indeed for a club that won premierships, champions league, FA cups and a world club cup during Emenalo's time!

Cue again, forward, it is 2017, 10 years after accepting Avram Grant's offer at Stamford Bridge, Mike Emenalo resigns from Chelsea ostensibly to continue his successful career at the Principality club of Monaco as is being reported by the British press. He leaves the blues with his head held high.

Arguably, Mike Emenalo, is the most successful Nigerian ever in football administration.

Well, many chelsea fans may not have liked some of the decisions he made for the club in ten years as technical director, myself included, one thing is clear though,he helped abramovich save a lot of money within the period. Go check the records,no club owner has invested so much in a club as the Russian did when he took over chelsea fc and could have gone bankrupt if he continued the way he started until emenalo stepped in and pulled the brakes on certain buys that looked good but too expensive on the long run. Check out how much abramovich was worth before chelsea and now to understand better how much he has invested
